Will definitely listen tonight.

Spoiler: It's less good than the previous albums, no big surprises in the album BUT I dare say they got the best compositions and perfornaces here, the songwriting is more varied and better compared to the previous ones. Also... Love the drumming. I was a bit afraid that it would be only clean vocals but I pleasantly surprised when his screams came a couple of times, they sound awesome tbh. Debut: Happy, second: kind of melancolic, third: quite romantic.
That's how I see it anyway.

Nah, no spoilers. I've already read about what the internet has to say about it. I'll have to wait and hear for myself though.

The more I listen to it the more glad I get that Niege got a drummer. Winterhalter's drumming keeps a lot of moments from losing my interest.

Ok, now it's official.
If the album leaks, the band uploads it for stream with good quality right away. Nice move.

I will check it tonight, so nice that the first album from 2012 that I get to listen to is from Alcest

Didn't exactly make my pants move, but its pretty decent.

Mellow, but I quite like it. Probably an 8 or 9 based on the first listen, for me at least. I actually like it more than the previous release!

Just what I was hoping for. Another chill, melancholy release. Just what I need while studying for finals. I'll give it a 6.5 based on my first listen. For the time being it's exactly what I wanted, but I doubt I'll give it a couple more listens.
Gregabob00 - 05.01.2012 at 02:48
Ok 6.5 is a bit harsh. I'll give it a 7.5.

To be honest there weren't too many moments that kept my interest. I found myself zoning out sometimes before snapping back into it and realizing an entire song had just played...

I gave it a lot of attention tonight and I think it's safe to say my review reflects exactly how I feel.
