They should quit

The song is fucking awesome! Can't wait for the album!
Jiri - 18.02.2012 at 20:21
Horrible... again. They once again play the same song. Pitiful. Even with a new vocalist, it sounds like the same song they have been playing for 9 years now. Can't wait for Tersh's rendition. At least he will make it interesting...
Stabby - 18.02.2012 at 20:23
I wouldn't want to be the one who has to clean up their studio after all of that wanking. I hope whoever it is gets paid well.

Pretty good vocal, but not as good as ZP. Song is decent, but a little predictable. This is generic Dragonforce, I hope they have more songs like The Last Journey Home on this album or else there won't be much point to the album for me.

How come when Cannibal Corpse release the same thing every album people love them, but when DragonForce do it people bash them?
Lonniehaskel - 18.02.2012 at 20:55
In before someone actually attempts to defend Cannibal Corpse.

I for one am not exactly the biggest Dragonforce fan, and I think this sounds great.
foschino - 18.02.2012 at 21:15
It's very hard not to be predictable and generic when your music only consists in guitar solos.
bj_waters - 18.02.2012 at 21:33
DragonForce has never aimed for anything other than being the poster child of Power Metal. That being said, I remember being kind of disappointed with Ultra Beatdown because it sounded like a Ctrl-C Ctrl-V of Inhuman Rampage. However, after listening to this track, I think I'm looking forward to this new album. First of all, I'm really liking the singer. ZP had a minor whine in his voice that grew wearisome after a while and I'm predicting the opposite with Marc here. The guitars are the same, of course, but I think they're not *quite* as bombastic as they were in Ultra Beatdown. Over on the Wikipedia page for this album, it has a quote from Li stating that they're going to be more diverse this time around. We'll have to see how true that is.
DragonSavior X10 - 18.02.2012 at 22:32
Sounds good, a bit different from their older stuff, but not by much of course. New singer sounds great.
Dark†SymphonY - 18.02.2012 at 22:51
Its sounds ok, but I find their music extremely repetitive and they only have a few (good) songs. Completely ignorable again for me.
BlackDuff - 18.02.2012 at 23:21
I could say it sounds pretty good. altough is not for me
SMAX - 18.02.2012 at 23:21
This song has some pretty sweet parts to it but it really sounds just like their last album. Will have to wait and see what the rest of the album brings us. Stuff is just a little to repetitive for me anymore.

I would put this in my siggy too, but people might get the wrong idea lol

Entering news like these because of the comments is totally worth it.

Oh it's that song again.
Gopherhawk - 19.02.2012 at 01:10
Hopefully the new album is more diversified than this.

Now that I've actually taken the courage to click on the link, I agree with you... glad my brother doesn't listen to Dragonforce anymore.
Torgo - 19.02.2012 at 02:28
For all the DragonForce fans if you are interested the japanese bonus track is a cover song of sam totman's and zp's side bandish project!! check it out!! http://youtu.be/-rlZLyLwBVQ
Baz Anderson - 19.02.2012 at 04:13
Don't like the new singer as much as ZP... Might as well give the album a go when it comes out though.
atkmetal123 - 19.02.2012 at 04:20
Decent. Still I have some little hope for Dragonforce in this new album

I don't like neither Dragonforce nor Cannibal Corpse, but this was funny.
Carl Berg - 19.02.2012 at 06:48
To reiterate comments from users like Rulatore and Jiri, this is unacceptable. Solos that can only be played in the studio, lyrics that are very cheesy (and I've been a fan of Rhapsody) are not good in today's metal scene.

Intro - Minor - Major - Minor - Major - weird harmonized unplayable solo - Minor - Major - Outro = IS NOT METAL
LeChron James - 19.02.2012 at 07:32
This dude doesn't have the ZIP that Zippy used to. Also, I don't know why everyone is bitching about DragonForce making yet another song that sounds like everything else they've ever done. IT'S DRAGONFORCE, there's almost negative zero variation between their albums, much less their songs.

... IS NOT METAL

That's what people said about Therion when they released Theli.

Exactly. Anyone who looks for originallity in a Dragonforce album would have stopped listening after Sonic Firestorm.
As I said when the album release date was announced: Let the guitar wankery begin.

Seems closer to the first album, especially the vocals. Otherwise more of the same. Will not be getting the new album, will just play the first two again, can't tell the difference anyway.
Poirot - 20.02.2012 at 22:28
Is this a new song ? Oh, I thought I've already heard it when I listened to any other DF song.

Although the song doesn't sound that different, I couldn't help noticing the harsh vocals in parts of the verses.

They did that on one of the songs on Inhuman Rampage. Can't remember which somg, but it mentioned "fire" (that's probably the whole album, though).

Yeah, it's fair to say they have limited lyrical themes. Which reminds me... http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DrinkingGame/DragonForce

Edit: I think I know which song you meant: "Revolution Deathsquad"

Lyrically, they only have 4 or 5 songs. They just re-arrange the words. Bit like Immortal, really.
Hey, if Dragonforce and immortal swapped lyrics, would anybody notice?

Lovers gonna love.

Love is more powerful than hate.

What if I love to hate them?

Wouldn't pay for this, though. Most good power bands could write songs like this in their sleep. Not really a hater, just a non-impressed power fan.
BudDa - 07.03.2012 at 14:48

Because cannibal corpse is more evil, heavier, darker sounding music, many people in the metal scene will be content with that.

The dragonforce seemed a step up from their last effort, I think I may have heard a different interval or two
