Vektor - To Take Brief Hiatus, Writing New Material

US thrashers Vektor have posted on their Facebook page the following update about taking a break from live shows to relocate and work on new material: "You may already be aware of this, but we wanted to clarify: over the next few months Vektor will be relocating out of Arizona to Philadelphia, PA (no big story behind the reason - we're all just needing a change in that direction)."

"Due to that and other personal happenings (eg. a wedding!) Vektor will be outwardly quiet for the next couple of months. But rest assured that during this period, though we have a lot to take care of during the move, we are all writing and rehearsing insane new music, as well as preparing for and organizing the many tours to come by August and thereafter!"

"Vektor is right now musically and internally the strongest we have ever been and hope you'll be patient with the short inactivity period while we get our 'real lives' squared away. During the wait you'll have the vinyl release of Outer Isolation to look forward to, as well as other new merchandise... Details forthcoming. Thanks again for the support, this western tour alone had some of our best shows to date and touring by our selves we know that it is only because you guys are rabidly loyal and awesome. We recognize and appreciate that, and hope you'll stick with us and keep that up. The insanity has only just begun. Sci Fi or die!"

I feel pity that "Outer Isolation" didn't win the Thrash category this year but hope this work will kick some real hard hitting ass for all the mainstream Thrash heads.

They were second after fucking MACHINE HEAD. It's pretty clear that Vektor are the real winners.

You know I actually thought hiatus meant that they were taking a break for some years when reading the title, that would suck.

While I liked MAchine Head's new album, I really didn't see it as a thrash metal album. Vektor truly deserved the thresh metal album of the year award.
Oh well. I'm looking forward to any new material from these guys. Love their slogan - Sci-fi or die

Hey, if they can make it better than Outer Isolation, more power to them.
