Demon Hunter - Another New Song Online

"Wake", a brand new song from US metalcore outfit Demon Hunter is now streaming online at the band's Facebook page. The song is taken from their new album True Defiance, which was released on April 10th through Solid State Records.

Vocalist Ryan Clark commented on the song: "'Wake' is another song that explores all the best elements of the band. It's very riff heavy, vocally melodic, extremely aggressive, grooving, and features some of the best drumming on the record. This song takes what some might consider the standard Demon Hunter vocal structure and flips it - the verses are melodic singing, and the screaming takes place in the chorus. I think those tweaks in the structure make it a unique DH song."

"Lyrically, it's about a person's fear of the unknown... or the coming to terms with one's mortality and spiritual life... digging deeper that a daily surface existence or 'waking' out of the ritualistic/mundane day-to-day."

Sounds like an alternative hard rock single you'd hear on the radio.

The way they talked about it you'd think it would be a fucking masterpiece.

I was just surprised that it was such a tepid, watered down rock tune.

Demon Hunter's only good album was Storm The Gates Of Hell, and it only had a few good songs.

Fading away is pretty good, if you want to youtube it, or even Carry Me Down. They are both super mild songs though.

Nah, my interest in these guys died out a few years ago. Not worth re-listening at this stage in my life.
