Aesma Daeva > All other symphonic-gothic-whatever bands.

This is a shame that Aesma Daeva are so underrated. As it was said already that Therion doesn't sell so well as some female-fronted groups, it's the same thing with Aesma Daeva. In fact, I can't say I never was a huge fan of female-fronted symphonic metal. There was and is Nightwish that I've always followed but that's it. Many other bands of the genre sound like diluted keyboard based music with a Tarja clone as the singer.

After Forever and Epica have always been a class of their own, tho...

@@@@Nattens, their music is symphonic and its awesome , if you have nothing better to say then stfu, I am a huge fan off all types of metal from symphonic to death but love Epica.. from their first albums till now just awesome. Their music is symphonic because they use keyboards and violins etc. its very beautiful and metal does not just mean death metal which most people assume because they are ignorant. Beautiful melodies and lyrically genius, stunning vocals from Simone and awesome instrumentals from all of Epica.

Epica is my favorite because of uniqueness, classical elements being symphonic Simone is an awesome singer and I hate people that are FUCKING rude about Epica. don't comment if your going to be rude....

Awesome Metal Bands

First off, thanks for making a complete tool of yourself. Nicely done but as it was said this isn't the place to spam. Also you might want to avoid making assumptions of people you don't even know. There's a saying: assumption is the mother of all fuck ups. So, just don't do it - like assuming people who criticize or comment on Simone Simons are pigs who just want T&A. Sorry, but I happen to like a great deal of bands with women in them. It just so happens none of them besides Therion are of the symphonic/operatic genre. Arkona for example is a fantastic pagan Metal band whose vocalist Masha "Scream" Arhipova easily utilizes clean and harsh vocals with aplomb. I've seen them live four times so far and she's pure dynamite and passion!

I was in fact stating my opinion as well as events which in fact have happened. Mark must learn to be a gentleman or else he will continue to have future incidents at his expense. He could also do with toning down his ego, i.e. comparing himself with guitarists he is nowhere near in the same league as. Criticism, both positive and negative is something all bands must accept and deal with. No band is above it and they know it.

If I want to be rude about Epica, well, I can but I won't do so on this forum continuously. Also, it's not just me who can't stand them; there's millions more out there. I'd love for you to try and tell all of us to shut the fuck up. It's arrogant and impossible. Just because someone doesn't like a band you do doesn't mean they should be somehow silenced simply because you do. It doesn't work like that, not online and most certainly not in real life. Save your ravings for the chat room.

By the way - and this is fact - there is nothing unique about your precious Epica. They sound like hundreds of other bands out there who use the same formula they do, especially by employing poorly executed female vocals. Therion are relevant in this in that they were the very first band to play this sound long before any other, and they do it the best - without using an image to increase record sales and popularity, especially in Europe where they not only rival Epica but in many countries are considered better than. I, too, listen to all forms of Metal with the exception of metalcore (excluding Merauder who started it and are the best at it), deathcore, and symphonic/operatic Metal with the obvious exception of Therion.

Next time don't be so eager to jump the gun without hearing the gunshot.

yeah, void can be an annoying douchebag, however personal attacks are not tolerated on the sight. switch to decaf, go for a walk, punch a wall.... and come back when level headed.

and it IS spamming to make 5 or 6 consecutive posts in the same thread. maybe condense your (pleasant, logical) thoughts into one post.

I once saw Mark help an old lady across the road. He then went and did some voluntary work at a soup kitchen. Did a sponsored marathon for one legged sheep. He is well known for raising money for disadvantaged hamsters and is the main force behind finding a cure for the terrible disease that is Nattens syndrome.

Nice attempt at trying to be witty and funny but that was just pathetic. It's not my fault that Mark is a putz deluxe and a piggish fuck up who has gotten his ass handed to him as a result a number of times already. Like I said, I hope it's caught on video and is uploaded to YouTube so the entire world will know the real side of that jagoff. It's only a matter of time.

What did I do to piss off that guy so much, and what did he say? Didn't say anything that would warrant any negativity.

I don't care for Epica at all but surely you can find something better to do. There are other forums to troll if you're really fishing for attention.

Hey, jagoff, it was mentioned as to why such a mediocre band is receiving the attention they don't deserve. I don't give a fuck if you don't care. I'm going to say it anyway. Meanwhile you call it a crusade just because you misinterpreted it as something else. The guy is a douchebag with all the toppings, sure, but it's not like I want him dead. He could easily be put out of his mortal coil by his own doing. It sure wouldn't be a first for people like that - and when it happens to him I'll have a good laugh then move on with my day/night. Every songwriter should recognize this for what it is - an "I don't know what the hell I am writing or where I want to go with this" type of song. Couldn't care less for the music, couldn't care less for the video. What makes this so bad, is that the acoustic breakdown makes it painfully obvious that this WOULD HAVE WORKED as a ballad. Get a clue, Mark.
