As I Lay Dying - Reveal New Album Title And Release Date


US metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying have announced that the band is currently in the Blasting Room with renowned rock producer Bill Stevenson, who's also the drummer for Descendents (and has played with Black Flag) and mixer Colin Richardson. The group is putting the finishing touches on their new album Awakened, due out on September 25th via Metal Blade.

Also, you will be able to download their new song "Cauterize" on their website for free starting on June 25th at midnight PST for 24 hours only. It will then be available for download on iTunes and online everywhere the next day. The artwork for the single can be viewed below.

It says the album title is Awakened and the cover there looks like it is just for the new song. Agree it looks good but I don't think it is the cover for the album? Hopefully it will look something like that, as I agree it looks good.

Well the skull certainly isn't a surprise, but it's nice to see something else in their cover art this time around. You can never tell if things like this necessarily signify a change of sound or a maturation or evolution or whatever, but I suspect this will be their most focused release to date. Maybe not their best, but their most focused.

Full length stuff after "The Powerless Rise" and it's coming out after long time(yes, i was waiting for it!!) since they drop the stupid EP in between which was awful. Cover art looks promising but as been already said you can't figure it out what they're coming up with. Will check it out soon.
