Slipknot - Guitarist Pulls Out Of Rockstar Tour
Slipknot has announced that guitarist Jim Root will not be participating in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem tour due to health issues for an unknown length of time. The tour kicked off in San Bernardino, CA, on June 30th and will run until the beginning of August.
A statement from the band reads as follows: "We're sorry to announce that our brother, Jim Root, will not be performing with us at Mayhem today in San Bernardino due to serious health issues. Jim has been seriously sick for the past two weeks and went to the hospital last week where he was advised that his appendix burst a couple weeks before and that it could have been life threatening. Jim is at home recovering and is awaiting surgery to have pieces of his appendix removed and hopes to join the tour as soon as he is able. Slipknot will continue to headline the Mayhem Festival and all other shows. We refuse to let our fans down and will not miss a single date. We will miss Jim greatly and our thoughts are with him. Jim sends his love to each and every one of our fans."

I think I would change the Title of this, saying that he "pulled" out of the tour makes it seem like he said "no, fuck that, I don't want to play this tour with you guys." It's more like "Guitarist Unable To Perform Rockstar Tour"... Sucks for Jim, not much a fan of the Knot anymore but Jim is still a great guitarist and am glad to hear that he going to be ok. Appendix bursting can be very lethal, I'm surprised he survived for 2 weeks with it burst, I've seen shows on TV that go to the length of showing viewers how to perform an emergency appendectomy in the event someone's appendix burst because of how quickly fatal it can be. Hope he gets better soon so he can join the tour for all the people out there who are still fans of the Knot.
