Relapse Records has announced the signing of French grindcore activists Blockheads. The label released the following statement: "Formed 20 years ago, Blockheads (Xav - vocals, Fred - guitar/vocals, Nico - drums/vocals & Eric - bass/vocals) has unleashed four full-lengths in addition to numerous splits, comps and DVDs. Early 2013 will see the release of their long awaited fifth LP and first full-length in over six years via Relapse."

The band commented on the signing: "Before being a band, we are first music lovers and the fact that we are fans of so many bands/records that Relapse released in the past makes us so happy and honored to join the roster. We're motivated more than ever and can't wait the release of our next album to get in the van and grind on stage."
