Japanese metallers Blood Stain Child have broken the news of the departure of their Greek singer Sophia, who joined the band in 2010 after their former vocalist Sadew left, and made her debut with the band on their 2011 release, εpsilon. She has now decided to leave the band.
Sophia left a message on her blog: "It's been almost two years since I joined BSC. I can't say time passed that quickly. Those two years, including almost one year of preparations, were full of work, creativity, constantly moving from place to place with countless airplanes, trains, buses along with my beloved suitcase and my best friend: myself."
"It felt like going back to school. I studied hard indeed and I learnt many important lessons. No cheating, no copying from the person sitting next to you. Always with honesty and truth being my guides. It might sound like the most difficult way to choose in this industry, but I see it as the only way for me. This is why I came to the decision to leave the band, which I believe is for the best interest of both BSC and me. There's been a lot of inevitable changes, which were beyond anyone's control, but which I believe were the catalyst that brought me to another level, both as a person and subsequently as an artist. It was a challenge that I gladly accepted, in order to go to the next step."
"Lastly, I would like to say sorry to all the fans and everyone involved for this sudden turn of events, but all of you who've been following me along the way, know that I'm not a person who gives up halfway through, or before I've done everything within my power. We shall meet again soon. Thank you from the bottom of my alien heart. Sending you lots of love and light. Sophia."

"my best friend: myself."
i would HATE to have someone that conceited in my band, good fuckin riddance |
|

|
| Well, I was happy with her input on Epsilon. Now I'm hoping for the next album to be on par at least. |

|
| I would say that the most frequent word in her statement is "I". Together with the fact she didn't say anything positive on the band (actually, she didn't say anything about them at all), it definitely hadn't been a peaceful split... |

Yea, probably. I can't understand why they take her? She sucks live!
Anyway - good point - she write many ,,I". She didn't write anything about band. Hope that they will stand as ,,male vocalist band", and don't split. |

| I agree with above comments, she sounded worse on stage than on the actual album. It also seems that she just got bored with the band and moved on. I can't say I'm happy to see her leave, but did she do much for BSC? |

Last album had a few catchy songs, but doesn't even compare to what they did back with Sadew on Mozaiq. She wasn't just bad live...she was awful. Here's to hoping they take a step back on the electronic elements a tad to what it was like on mozaiq and bring back more harshes and more melodeath elements...not going to hold my breath for that though.
Can't say I'm upset by her departure. |

Meh... I would totally do her anyways. Doesn't look too bad. |

| She's eye candy to some, is all I meant. I don't find her attractive to be honest. |
|
|
|
| I will miss her deeply. She perfectly elevated their sound. Her voice is angelic. Hoping to hear more of her in the future. |

Hes Christian? He wasn't Christian then? Is that the reason why he left Kamelot? Couldn't he be both a Christian and Kamelot's singer? |

Quote: "Dear fans & friends,
There have been a lot of speculations around why I am not touring with Kamelot and I want to make a statement although it may not prevent further guessing as to what's actually going on. It is a fact however that I told the guys in the band already last fall (well after my burnout) that I was leaving the band. Naturally enough they were shocked (as was the label and everyone else working with Kamelot). In addition to risk of dropping ticket sales they wanted to give me time to think things over, and so I did. My decision still stands; It is finished.
I am currently spending time with my family in Norway taking it easy and wondering profoundly what the future is going to bring. Communication with the outer world has been so and so, but I have had several talks with Thomas along the way although I am still called in sick. I am terribly sorry that my decision is affecting so many others and I want you to know I wish the band & associates all the best for the future and that I enjoyed every second in the spotlight. How could I not...they were nourished by the best fans in the world! I am eternally thankful for everything you and Kamelot have given me and equally sorry that it has to end here. The good news is; God was there after all...
Love you to death!
All the best & so long,
Roy Khan" |
