Anathema are preparing a new treat for the fans. There is a new DVD/Blu-ray coming up in the near future. The band will be filming a special concert on 22nd September in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) at the Ancient Roman Theatre. Anathema will be accompanied by string players of the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra.

The band explained the details: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Bulgarian fans and indeed fans around the world to be part of Anathema's Bluray recording on Saturday."

"As you may know, on 22nd September the Ancient Roman Theatre in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) will host a truly special concert. The ruins of this spectacular building will provide a magical backdrop when Anathema take to the stage to perform their show alongside the string players of the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra. After weeks of speculation we can now reveal that this unique concert will be recorded live and released on Bluray in 2013 by Kscope."

"Speaking about the show, Daniel said that 'recording a definitive Anathema DVD in Bulgaria, among some of the best fans in the world, has been on our agenda for some years. The fact that it's in this amazing location with an orchestral performance is surely a recipe for something special.'"

"Fresh from winning the award for Best Live Performance at the UK Classic Rock Presents Prog Awards last month, Anathema have designed a stunning production for this show and you can expect to see a breathtaking performance of Anathema songs, new and old. Anathema fans are travelling from far and wide for this show and flights to Sofia have seen a boom in recent weeks! Niiiiiiiiice. Hope they don't play too much from the new album or at least I hope the live performance adds some magic to those songs.

Well that's kind of a naive hope. They're bound to play as much new stuff as possible

Nah, I've seen bands promoting their new album on tour and playing just 3 or 4 songs from it.
Latest DVD was in 2006 so they could share the "non-classics" space to play some WAHBWAH songs as well.

No really. Bulgaria had Sonisphere 2010 and now they're gonna be featured in another sensational show waiting to be released on Blu-ray.
I really wish there was a way to attend this show.
