Wacken Open Air 2013 - Sold Out

Thinking of going to Wacken Open Air in 2013 but haven't got your ticket yet? Well think again because Wacken Open Air has already sold out, a whole 11 months in advance! The following message was posted by Wacken on their official website earlier today:

"For the eighth time in a row Wacken Open Air is SOLD OUT. As fast as never before! All 75.000 tickets are sold.

THANX FOR YOUR SUPPORT, METALHEADS!

A huge part of the billing is already announced including several special and exclusive shows as well as high-class acts. As every year we have made every effort to provide a terrific billing! And the announcements don't stop. During December at least one band will be announced per day via our online advent calendar.

Together we will turn the 24th Wacken Open Air into a mega party! We will also offer various online features - so have a look at www.wacken.com or add our official facebook account.

Although there are 11 months left until the festival starts, the arrangements of course are already running. We can't wait until August. The tickets will be shipped (depending on the payment receipt) as soon as possible! Please be aware that due to the enormous demand on tickets the shipping will take several working days. So please be patient

Important: Tickets you hitherto ordered at Metaltix will be certainly delivered if you received an order acceptance!

For those who haven't bought a ticket yet there are two options:

Please have in mind that we fed in the ticket personalization. That means that selling as well as buying tickets on other platforms than metaltix.com or the ticket exchange are accusable. We fed in the personalization to beware you from rip-offs. The ones who still buy tickets elsewhere take the high risk to buy invalid tickets.

Our official tour operators still have remaining contingents but of course only in combination with the travel. If you are interested please contact the particular contact person at our travel section.

Furthermore you have the chance to offer or buy a ticket at our ticket exchange. Important! Read the rules for the ticket exchange carefully! It may happen that you will be betrayed if you don't follow the rules!

The ticket exchange works as follows:
1) The agreement regarding buying or selling is made by you (we only check the price which can't be higher than the original pre-sales price).
2) If you made an agreement it's important that there is no payment to be made yet!
3) The seller send us the tickets and we check if the are valid
4) When the check-up is made the buyer gets a note from us that www.metaltix.com received the tickets and they are valid. We then let you know that you can transfer the money to the sellers bank account.
5) When the seller receives the money he lets us know. Then we send out the tickets.

Advantages of the ticket exchange:
- No rip-off concerning the ticket price
- guarantee of original tickets

IMPORTANT!
Please strictly follow the rules and do not transfer any money before we made the check-up and inform you that the money can be transferred! Otherwise it may happen that you will be betrayed!

Fans and loyalty are the heart of the festival!

Blasting the North in August! See you in Wacken - Rain or Shine! We thank you all again for your amazing support and your loyalty."

It may be impressive in terms of figures, but I think the festival is getting too big for its own good. I'm pretty sure next year (if not maybe this year too) they'll increase the number of tickets to 80.000 or something, and so on.

Maybe they will. Why they haven't done it yet has problably something too do with security and they fact that they are responsible for people within the festival area.

The lineup so far is actually quite decent for Wacken at this early time. Anthrax, Deep Purple, Ihsahn, Haggard, Amorphis, Candlemass, ...
Sounds a lot better than Wacken 2012 same time last year. Only I have a slight feeling they will fuck up the good pace during the christmas calendar announcements.

Edit: Oh, and it's also pretty certain that Dodheimsgard will play as they had to cancel this year.
