Jiri doesn't know how to feel right now. This is one of his favorite bands of all time! But, he is not a huge Vortex fan. He wishes they would dump him for another. That would make this piece of news very interesting. Oh well, if they do use Vortex, Jiri can only hope it won't be as flat as Sideshow Symphonies. Ah, Jiri misses Garm  |

Just give him a few more tries  I also thought that way, in fact I couldn't stand him in Arcturus, and I still prefer Garm over Vortex a bit, but now I enjoy both of them in Arcturus, as well as V. in other bands... |

But, Arcturus changes drastically with every release and I just can't envision a Vortex-ridden album being able to differ. I mean, he has no variation in his voice (unlike the great Garm) and his musical projects all sound like one Ozzy-high-note worshiping mess. All albums with him as a frontman are lackluster. Especially his solo album. I just don't want him ruining the mystique the Arcturus has worked years garnering. Vortex is fine as a guest (like LMI) or as a bassist/clean vocalist (Dimmu). But listening to him try to sing as high as he can for a whole album is grating. Also, he has a tendency to sing uber fast and rhyme a lot. He just irks ol' Jiri sometimes  |

Fredd agrees with Jiri. Vortex is a drug best administered in small-to-moderate doses. |
