Voivod - New Album Artwork And Tracklist Revealed

Curious to see Voivod's new album cover artwork? Well, now you can. The Canadian progressive thrash metallers will be releasing their new album entitled Target Earth soon and the cover art and tracklist have now been revealed. The album hits stores on January 21st, 2013, throughout Europe and January 22nd in North America under Century Media. For more details about the new album, head over to this location.

The original art was once again drawn by drummer, Away (Michel Langevin) and features color schemes from each one of the band's previous albums.

According to the band, fans can "expect something in the vein of Nothingface with some elements from the other albums. It will be a classic Voivod album."

"Mechanical Mind", the previously released new single, can still be streamed over here.

I think this art works perfectly. Btw all of their art is quite minimal and it is once again clearly Away's style of drawing/painting.

I enjoy the artwork a lot

I was hoping for something more in the ballpark of Killing Technology or War and Pain in terms of the art. I like their art that has more of a "sketched/raw" feel than I do the cleaner painted looking ones.

if that is the case then I agree. I thought with epic you meant über-detailed, almost power metal kind sort of artwork. I definitely think the artwork of their first four albums is their best.

well... never heard of them before until today, and I'm checking out the music now (I tend to judge a book by the cover). Sounds quite good!

It's basically Dave Grohl's project that he did with a bunch of well known musicians like Lemmy etc. I've never really listened to the whole thing though I don't think.
