Queens Of The Stone Age's frontman Josh Homme recently confirmed on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show that Dave Grohl will rejoin the band for their sixth studio album on drums.

Homme also stated that previous drummer Joey Castillo had left the band. Grohl had featured on QOTSA's 2002 album Songs For The Deaf before stepping aside for 2005 LP Lullabies To Paralyze and 2007's Era Vulgaris. Homme spoke of his working relationship with the Foo Fighters frontman stating "[Grohl] and I have this wonderful musical relationship which we don't have with other people. It's a very cool and comfortable position."

A visual confirmation was made when the band posted their studio's mixing board with the names of the band's updated lineup. The group has already booked appearances at Lollapalooza Brazil and Chile and at the Download Festival.

Yes! Grohl on drums! I'm sure that will make absolutely no difference to the enjoyment and quality of this record!

This is welcome news. Dave is the man. Great drummer and a great guy, from what I've seen. Looking forward to the album. Songs for the Deaf was one I really enjoyed a decade ago.

Grohl should stick to drumming instead of his crappy singing and guitar playing
Nosurper - 08.11.2012 at 22:56
Fantastic news. His drumming is powerful

I find his guitar playing extremely mediocre and his singing as well just like his song writing for Foo Fighters.
His drumming is so much better. He is a really great hard hititng drummer in the vein of cozy POwell/ Ian Paice/ John Bonham.

I dub myself Mr Realist.

It's immaterial anyway, this record is likely to be like the last two I.e. rubbish. I'll eat my words if it's not true but I can't see it happening myself.

neither can I, tbh. Grohl only drummed on Songs, he didn't write a thing for it.

Cmon I didn't skew the record in favor of Grohl that much. I just gave credit where credit was undoubtedly due.

just for thinking that Grohl's singing and guitar playing and song writing are crap and voicing my opinion on it in a thread on the guy makes me a grumpy fuck? Well then everyone is a grumpy fuck because everyone hates some musician which is revered by many people.
