Nightwish - Release Live Video

Nightwish have recently performed a special showcase on November 10th at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki on the night of the Imaginaerum world premiere, featuring vocalist Floor Jansen (ReVamp, ex-After Forever), who stepped in during their US tour. The band has now released a live clip of the song "I Want My Tears Back" recorded that night, taken from their last album Imaginaerum. Watch the live clip below.

Great performance. Floor knows how to keep up with Marco at least. Ironicaly she has the low tone and Marco the high one, but that makes a perfect mix. Anette had a high tone as well and was unfortunately completely drowned by Marco's incredible voice. I hope they can keep her, she would be a great addition to the music of Nightwish.

Meh, it's okay. Although a hell of a lot better than an Anette performance.

she isn't, but she hides it very well with her hair and sexy outfit. She sings very well though.

Can't believe I missed this tour... Thought it came to town at the end of October, not mid October.

I like the way Floor performs and considering the quality of her previous work I do hope she will record a studio album with Nightwish one day. Tarja is unforgettable, Anette was exceptional and I will miss her too but I think Floor would be the best possible solution for this band for the time being...

I disagree with most of you. It took me awhile to warm up to Anette and I'm one of those people who think DDP and Imag were the best of the Nightwish catalogue. Luckily i was able to catch em live a week before Anette left and it was one of my all time favorite shows. Floor is alright though, and so is After Forever. I was kind of hoping for a Marco-only Nightwish album, with him being sole vocalist.

And I'd hate to say it, but one of the main reasons for not liking Floor is that, to me, she doesn't come off quite as "jolly" as Anette. Yknow, what I mean? Floor is an unattractive stick figure who comes off as a copy of other female symph-band vocalists.

Anette sings that song well, probably even just as well. It's the Tarja material where Floor>Anette no contest.

I was kind of hoping for a Marco-only Nightwish album, with him being sole vocalist.

I have nothing against Marco, but I really don't think that would work out for two reasons:
1. He technically has a band that already fits that description: Tarot. Why would he need to be the sole vocalist for Nightwish if he is the lead vocalist of another successful power metal band already?
2. Even if they did that, they'd still need to hire a female vocalist for the tour. Whilst Marco could make a good attempt at most songs from the older Nightwish catalogue, I'd be lying if I said that I could see him successfully singing them on his own for a whole show, let alone a tour. However, sticking to only the songs which he did lead vocals on would be career suicide for Nightwish, since most people want to hear stuff like "Wishmaster" and "Ghost Love Score".

That said, I do understand where you are coming from with that idea: it would be nice to hear him sing more in Nightwish than we already do, as he's a great vocalist.

Just wait a sec, he's an amazing Tenor, and his style is mainly semi operatic. If they decide to choose Marco as their only singer, they can play some songs 1 or 2 octaves below the original. That wouldnt change the songs that much and he would totally rock them out. Although i dont think thats gonna happen.

Except he hasn't been the sole vocalist for Tator since Suffer Our Pleasures. He's shared lead vocals on the last 3 albums with Tommi Salmela.

I understand what you want to say. I liked Anette a lot because she had an amazing stage presence. Always full of energy and constantly in touch with the audience. I will miss the "hep hep" and the sad thing is that it seemed to me that she had started to do that less often during her last concerts. Maybe it was because she was exhausted, maybe it was due to tensions in the band. Who knows... On the other hand, Floor is still new to Nightwish and I think that with time she would open up as well and be a good crowd-pleaser. Vocal-wise she surely is better than Simone Simmons (even though Simone is hotter).

To be honest I think Floor is too much for Nightwish. I doubt she would accept being in a band in which one member has near complete creative control. It would be extremely hard for her to work with Toumas.

With that being said, I think her voice is exactly what Nightwish needs. She has character, she is incredibly versatile (way more than both Tarja and Anette), and right now she has a lot of momentum going for her. I think it would be amazing to see a full album with Floor and Marco singing together, it would instantly become a hit.
