Avantasia - New Song Released

Avantasia have officially presented the first track from their upcoming album The Mystery Of Time. You can now listen to an edit version of the song called "Invoke The Machine" on the lyric video below. Besides the band's mastermind Tobias Sammet, the track features Pretty Maids vocalist Ronnie Atkins as a guest singer.

You can get your hands on The Mystery Of Time on March 29th when Nuclear Blast Records releases it. More album details can be found over here.

Tobias Sammet commented: "I have been a huge Pretty Maids fan since I was a teenager. I already asked Ronnie to be on the Metal Opera in 1999, but he was busy back then. Last year I saw Pretty Maids live, and they were a steam train on stage, unbelievable. After the show we met and Ronnie was a great guy. Finally after 13 years, I am really proud to have him on the new Avantasia album. And his kick-ass performance leaves no doubt: It was a great decision to ask him!"

The Mystery Of Time tracklist:

01. Spectres
02. The Watchmakers' Dream
03. Black Orchid
04. Where Clock Hands Freeze
05. Sleepwalking
06. Savior In The Clockwork
07. Invoke The Machine

Awesome song, This was a step up from 2011's Age of the Joker, now if Tobi could make awesome sounding Edguy albums it would be great!

Guitar solo has some balls, rest is average. And that concept art is just awful, it just doesn't fit the music.

Patrick.

A great song and surprisingly fast and heavy too! Atkins totally delivers here, great range, power and variety. He impresses more on this song than even Tobias himself does imo (which is a great compliment, because Tobi sounds awesome here as well). Hearing this I wished he had more spots on the album. It kind of sounds like all the recent fast Edguy/Avantasia songs simply rolled all into one, a pretty exciting cocktail.

I'm quite the sucker for Avantasia. The range of different voices that Tobias throws into these songs is incredible. It's rare that I dislike their material.
