Tesseract - Release First Taste Of Upcoming Album

Tesseract have given fans a treat to savour this weekend, a sneak peak of their upcoming second opus Altered State. You can now hear below the first sounds of it on a trailer released by the band. However, you will have to wait until May 27th in Europe and May 28th in the US to grab Altered State.

The album is divided into four movements: "Of Matter", "Of Mind", "Of Reality", and "Of Energy" that represent the transformations the band has gone through over the last few years. More album details were previously reported over here.

The band elaborated on the concept: "The concept behind the presentation of Altered State is very simple. It is about change, and how life is change. We have been through a very difficult period of time over the last few years. It is a miracle that the band has survived. I feel it is the ability to step back and see everything for what it is (hence the Perspective EP) that has allowed us to get on with life and try to enjoy it. Reality is change."

Altered State tracklist:

01. Of Matter - Proxy
02. Of Matter - Retrospect
03. Of Matter - Resist
04. Of Mind - Nocturne
05. Of Mind - Exile
06. Of Reality - Eclipse
07. Of Reality - Palingenisis

This sounds really promising. It feels like the new singer can really match Dan in vocal performance.

Really disappointed with the vocalist's performance. Some pop band out there wants their vocalist back? -.- Can't judge the other instruments as of yet but we'll see....

Liked it! Singer seems to have a range in between the previous two singers.

I was pleased with this. Even though I have reservations about this new album, this teaser did its job and made me more interested.

It's a bit of an unusual teaser choice considering that Tesseract's greatest essence is their groove, in my opinion at least. But still I'm expecting a strong album and I hope I won't be disappointed.
