Finnish black metal experimentalists Oranssi Pazuzu have broken the silence and just announced their new album to be released via Svart Records and 20 Buck Spin. The new offering is called Valonielu and comes two years after their latest release. What do you expect from the successor to Kosmonument? Oranssi Pazuzu's third album is completed.

Having found a new home on Svart Records in Europe and 20 Buck Spin in North America, Oranssi Pazuzu will release the new album on both the LP and CD formats, by both labels, with release dates of October 11th in Europe and October 15th in North America respectively.

Valonielu "offers a vibrant, colorful cataclysm of psych, space rock and black metal that cannot be easily categorized as any one particular genre or any single influence. At once celestial and boundless yet malevolently grim and harsh."

The album opener will be "Vino Verso" ("Askew Sprout") and the final track is "Ympyra On Viiva Tomussa" ("A Circle Is A Line In The Dust"). More will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Thanks for the news BloodTears, love the questions. I expect this to be their best so far.

Valo = Light
Nielu = Drain/Vortex

lol Tks for the translation! It makes it more interesting. So it would be something like "Light Vortex"?

Best news of the year for this Oranssi fanboy right here!!!
Hard to say what to expect after Kosmonument... it was my favorite album of 2011 and in my opinion an almost perfect album, so I don't really think they can top it. I hope this new installation sticks to Kosmonument's fat, groovy sound and the hypnotic bass lines, but we could always be in for a slight change of sound too. The update on the band's Facebook said that it'd have some influences from 90s Darkthrone, so we could by all means be in for something a little more grim and heavier. Can't wait to find out!
