I think this is going to be an album that I would have loved if it had a little more of an edge in some parts. Listening to this song, I hear parts that just sound like they would be better with some mild growls or just a few measures of aggressive riffs. I guess the band is getting away from that sound, Kind of like Alcest, but I think in Cynic's case (and maybe Alcest too), those extreme tinges is what kept the music interesting and wove together something dark, yet beautiful and intelligent.

You know what... I'm gonna be blunt here.
Yes, they are stepping away from metal. However, musically, this is possibly the best music they've produced. If the rest of the album follows suit with these previews, it may just be my favourite Cynic albums.

Just because it doesn't have metal edge, doesn't make it any less interesting. Fucking loving Malone's bass work on everything so far.

Sometimes you just need to roll the dice and look away.

My father always had a saying "Not my cup of tea".
Maybe its not agrresive (and other metal stuff) but I'm respect that its sounds solid. They did a great job and just from curiosity I'm gonna wait for it and check the results.

Couldn't agree more, the tracks released for this album have been fantastic so far. Feb 14th couldn't come sooner for me.

I really can't think of a better way to put it than this. This is pretty much how I've felt about all three pre-release songs so far. They're all pretty decent, but there's no edge them.

I can't see myself appreciating this album too much, which is a damn shame. Traced in Air was so good.

I'm impressed. I only considered the first two released tracks to be of an average to good quality, but this track is vastly superior. If this is indicative of what is to come, there *might* be enough to redeem this album from being completely and utterly mediocre. We'll have to wait and see.

Better than Lions Roar, not better than the title track imo. They may as well just kindly bend to our wills and give us the album freely.
