Black metallers Behexen are celebrating 20 years as a band this year in style with a new album! The Finns just announced that the work is underway to follow Nightside Emanations and the plan is to complete it later this year.

The band released this statement: "Once again the year has changed, which means that exactly 20 years ago Behexen took physical form and first rehearsals were done with Torog, Horns and Reaper in the Diabolical year of 1994. The world has changed but the black sulphurous fire that burns in our hearts is stronger and hungrier than ever and because of this, in this year 2014 it is time to feed that furnace of Moloch more and more earnestly than ever before.

"The greatest sacrifice that we can give in this anniversary by being the instrument of our Lord, is the new album! The process is underway, and the formula starts to be visible but not ready. We will continue to work with it and hope that it will be completed in late 2014. Before that, during this year, we will be offering various items which bear our name, Behexen. We are going to do live-conjurations as well in and outside of Europe. The first confirmed live dates below.

"All details regarding upcoming gigs, merchandise and finally, the new album will be announce here and in our official web page."

Tour dates:

Kings Of Black Metal - April 4-5th 2014 in Alsfeld, Germany
Martyrdoom Fest - June 26-29th 2014 in NYC, USA
Short US Tour right after Martyrdoom, dates TBA
Black Arts Ceremony III - October 4th 2014 in Lyon, France

Their splits always have a much nicer sound and songwriting than their full lengths. Shame they don't stick with it.

haven"t listened to the splits yet, but i quite liked the sound of the first 3 albums, would like if they got closer to that again and avoided the production of Nightside Emanations
don"t know what exactly it is, but it seems more hollow and less like their organically grown sound to me compared to the previous, a similar criticism i also have for the Azaghal and Haemoth albums released within a few months of it
