Good news for Amaranthe fans. The follow-up to The Nexus (winner of Best Industrial / Cyber / Electronic Metal Album on Metal Storm Awards 2013) is coming out this year already. The band has confirmed an autumn 2014 release date for their new as yet untitled studio album via Spinefarm Records.

The band is set to return to the studio after their European Invincible Tour.

According to guitarist Olof Mörck: "2014 will indeed see the release of the next Amaranthe record. We don't want to reveal any details yet, apart from this album representing a big step forward for Amaranthe musically - where Amaranthe and The Nexus were closely connected, this new album is bolder and more different... but, of course, with the trademark Amaranthe sound throughout! See you all on tour this spring with our last Invincible shows - and expect blown minds in 2014!"

Gee, aren't they ambitious. The Nexus was a guilty pleasure for me, so I'm interested in what this new, "bolder and more different", album will sound like.

Looking forward to it! I was slightly disapointed with the Nexus over the debut so hopefully this one raises the bar!

I thought their debut was quite good actually but their second release was poor.

Me too. For me "Nexus" was a huge step forward and amazing album with absolutely NO fillers. Let see what they come up with this one.

Anyone know how the new harsh vocalist compares to Andy?

Here's hoping they try and branch out and experiment a little more in this one, Amaranthe might be a guilty pleasure but we can't have them going dull already
