The upcoming Arch Enemy album is now taking shape. Century Media has just unveiled the tracklist and cover artwork of War Eternal, the band's first with new singer Alissa White-Gluz. The band has already shot a video with the new singer, for the title track "War Eternal". Below you can see the album cover. One clue: pigs.

The album is going to be released on June 9th in Europe and June 10th in North America. Take a look at the tracklist and album cover:

Artwork by Costin Chioreanu

01. Tempore Nihil Sanat (Prelude in F minor)
02. Never Forgive, Never Forget
03. War Eternal
04. As The Pages Burn
05. No More Regrets
06. You Will Know My Name
07. Graveyard Of Dreams
08. Stolen Life
09. Time Is Black
10. On And On
11. Avalanche
12. Down To Nothing
13. Not Long For This World

Guitarist Michael Amott comments: "I was looking for a hand-drawn feel with a unique atmosphere, something that would complement the music that we've been working so hard on these last couple of years. In the end my choice fell upon Romanian artist Chioreanu Costin, who's work I've admired for some time. Costin really grasped my vision for the artwork and layout, he's delivered some of the coolest artwork elements we've ever had with Arch Enemy!"

Nice one
I like the cover though...

Pretty cool art work!
Migtanteot - 28.03.2014 at 19:41
For a second I thought It was Cthulhu painted on the right wall. Maybe becouse is getting used to.
I like the whole artwork and as I said before, the vocal change made me look forward to this band, after a while.

Very good cover.
J. N. - 28.03.2014 at 19:59
This looks just as promising as Floor Jansen in Nightwish. Will be cool to hear what Alissa can do with them.
Unhealer - 28.03.2014 at 20:03
Everybody talks about the pigs, but nobody mentioned anything about Master Splinter. Awesome artwork.
Lord_Agony - 28.03.2014 at 20:12
Really implements the concept of the album
i think the album is about pork
!J.O.O.E.! - 28.03.2014 at 20:14
Wow, that's actually really good cover artwork.
LascaillesShroud - 28.03.2014 at 20:17

I really wish I could believe that this album might match the artwork; something darker, more sinister and different from the usual but I have a hard time getting on board with that. I'd love Arch Enemy to do something good again though.

Don't see what people love so much about the artwork but still hoping for a good album
Troy Killjoy - 28.03.2014 at 21:09
The music definitely won't live up to the quality of the cover art.

Don't see why you didn't like it.

Previous artworks were better?

Never really liked AE's covers much but about this one, I just don't see it. Obviously, people are seeing something I'm not lol

Trivial is easy.

People see pigs and you not.

*leaves the hall in disgust
BloodJuNkie - 28.03.2014 at 21:39
The album cover is decent, the only decent cover by AE was that one of Anthems Of Rebellion. The rest didn't impress me!
Ocean Sage - 28.03.2014 at 21:43
"Graveyard of Dreams" sounds cool. The cover looks ridiculous though. Everything else sounds like a cliche of some kind. Too bad about this band just going to dust.
PocketMetal - 28.03.2014 at 21:43
I like the idea of the artwork but I don't like the coloring and how the middle figure looks. I think it could be more ...alluring ? Anyway , I too hope the album is good.
AeonGio - 28.03.2014 at 22:42
Ahahahah very cool cover! Arch Enemy rocks! Although i'm gonna miss Angela, i'm looking forward to this new album! It will be another masterpiece for sure! \m/
AngelofDeth - 28.03.2014 at 23:08
Dont know what it is but the cover just feels off to me... Maybe it's that I don't see how it relates to the title/lyrics of War Eternal because alone it is a really cool piece of art.

Again, a list of ultra generic song titles(aside from a couple), and judging by the first single, I expect the music will be the same. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
DJ Cos - 29.03.2014 at 00:38
Seems very Meh to me... just like most of Arch Enemy's work. Does not excite me...
But good luck with the new singer...
psykometal - 29.03.2014 at 00:55
I dig the art quite a bit for what it is, but as Angel said, it doesn't seem to fit the album or song titles, or Arch Enemy in general. I have hope the album will turn out better than the last 2 though.
Big E - 29.03.2014 at 02:00
Damn, I was not expecting that. Is there any chance that the single 'War Eternal' just sucked by itself and the rest of the album is as good as that cover?
Dima - 29.03.2014 at 03:55
Don't see how the cover relates to the album title but it looks cool regardless.

Pigs are obviously belligerent by nature

Pigs stature I think taken from here.

Sword_Chant - 29.03.2014 at 15:15
Lets hope the music makes an equally good match for the artwork!

But this one of my all time favorite artworks, this was done very well, a great artwork and very relevant to the atmosphere of the album of it.

Obviously Bloodbath comes to mind... Good thing it's no puerile pseudo-revolution themed like they were doing (really made me cringe ).

You gotta be out of your mind if you think the two look anything alike.

Besides, that's a dog, not a pig.

Ha, I'm talking about stature.
psykometal - 30.03.2014 at 01:04
Pretty sure Lit. is too. The only part of the 2 images that are reminiscent of each other is A) they're in a church like structure, and B) they're anthropomorphic humanoid animals.
Dark Blood - 30.03.2014 at 20:18
It's definitely something different, I'll give them that. I kinda like it. Now let's hope the content has the same effect. The song they released was alright.
deadone - 31.03.2014 at 00:29
I like that cover - very nice.
Karlabos - 31.03.2014 at 00:39
Lol I didn't even know that Alissa White was singing of Arch Enemy..
Yeah, I'm out to date.
TrollandDie - 06.04.2014 at 00:11
I like it - better than Khaos Legions' cover by miles.

As for the music, I'm hopeful for a decent album. Might have gone a bit stale recently, but Amott's guitar work keeps reeling me back in for more.

Looks like the villains of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are arranging some plan against them!
