Monolithe - New Members, Plan New Album And Live Performances

Monolithe have many new things in store. Over a course of 10 years, the band has released 4 one-track full length albums, 2 EPs and one compilation, all of them being part of the same universe, the same story. "The Great Clockmaker" saga is now complete and fulfilled. Consequently, Monolithe, such as it has been known, is no more.

In their words: "Monolithe has always been a morphing creature, though. Now is the time to really move on. Adapt or, artistically, die. The time has come for more radical changes. And here are some of the more substantial ones."

Monolithe welcomes now three new members. The new line-up consists of:

  • Richard Loudin (vocals)
  • Sylvain Bégot (guitars)
  • Benoît Blin (guitars)
  • Vincent Rémon (bass - also plays in Devianz)
  • Matthieu Marchand (keyboards - also plays in Abstrusa Unde & Parad1gm)
  • Jérôme Lachaud (drums - also plays in Eibon)

The doom metallers plan to hit the studio in February 2015 and are willing to create a diptych (which means two new albums, recorded together and related to each other). These records will not be one-track albums. No release date has been set so far but there's hope for a late 2015 / early 2016 delivery for, at least, the first of the two. You should expect some changes in the music too.

Even though it has been said many times that it would never happen, Monolithe is planning to perform live during the year 2016 in carefully chosen places, in order to celebrate its 15 years of existence. The band will be ready to play from January 2016 on.

Not sure how I feel about this. If you're going to change the entire foundation of your band, why not start a new project?
