Primordial - Streaming New Song, New Album Details

Primordial have unveiled a new song titled "Where Greater Men Have Fallen" from the upcoming album with the same name. This is the first song you can listen to from the follow-up to Redemption At The Puritan's Hand. Furthermore, the band has revealed everything you need to know about the new album Where Greater Men Have Fallen. That includes album artwork, tracklist and more details. Check out the new 8-minute track on the lyric video below. Was it worth the wait?

The album will be released on November 25th this year via Metal Blade Records. The eight-track, fifty-eight minute epic was tracked at Grouse Lodge in Dublin with Jaime Gomez (Cathedral, Angel Witch, Grave Miasma). Pre-orders are available here.

Singer A.A. Nemtheanga elaborates: "Some time at the end of 2013 we sat and began to plot a course for album number eight. We moved camp to a new rehearsal room and the ideas began to take shape. We felt it was time to try a new studio and engineer so we went to Grouse Lodge deep in the middle of Ireland and employed Gomez to come over and work on the new album. We feel revitalized, the hunger never left and we are ready for another chapter to be written in our history!"

Tracklist:
01. Where Greater Men Have Fallen
02. Babel's Tower
03. Come The Flood
04. The Seed Of Tyrants
05. Ghosts Of The Charnel House
06. The Alchemist's Head
07. Born To Night
08. Wield Lightning To Split The Sun

Not sure it's quite up with the best from TTND, but it sounds like a potential step up from the (very solid) RFTPH, so looking forward to it. Also, that artwork is beautiful and makes me tempted to buy it physically rather than just digitally.

It's a decent enough song, but man is it flat! It's 8 minutes of listening to the same pattern over and over. Could they not have mixed up something in the last half of the song at least? Still, sounds pretty good. No major complaints!

Reminds me a bit of The Coffin Ships. It repeats the same pattern, but builds it up into different subtle variations.
Love the cover and the song titles.

This song sounds like a weaker "empire falls" to me (it will probably have some power when played live). Still good though.

+1
Repetitive, yes, but it already sounds better than most of Redemption...'s songs

That was my main issue with it...I mean, there is subtle changes throughout, but not enough to keep it from being a bit dry by the end. Not awful, though. Sounds like Primordial.

Man, I don't know... I feel like they've just lost their fire ever since The Nameless Dead (which admittedly was super fantastic and one of my all-time favs). I don't have a single Redemption song and I wouldn't purchase the above track either. It's Primordial... but watered down. Maybe I'm just tired from a long day though.

If you listen to Primordial for new things you're looking for the wrong thing. This is the same formula they used on The Gathering Wilderness, Nameless Dead, and so forth, deep into their back catalog. They do not reinvent the wheel. They do not really reinvent their style.

This is a bit more subtle maybe. A bit heavier, though that may be the production. All in all even if it's still Primordial as always though, I like the song about as much as stuff on Nameless Dead and Gathering Wilderness. So that's promising.

So it's basically like every single other Primordial song?

I don't know what songs you guys are listening to if you think they are as repetitive as this. I never said it was a bad song by the way, they just didn't go anywhere with it. It doesn't carry any emotional power because it's so flat. Sure a lot of other songs follow this formula to a degree, but it's still how i feel. Do i want them to change their sound? No! It's definitely an improvement on the last album so far anyway though.

Yes, the song builds up to nothing and Alan's vocals are not as good as they used to be. I hope the rest of the album is better.

I actually like his vocals on this one, at least until the chorus comes for a second time. The end of the song is less interesting vocals-wise.

The end of the song is a disappointment on all aspects.

Agreed. Oh well, maybe the rest of the album will be better. I'm hopeful.
