From MetalSucks: "If Unearth are the Slayer of metalcore, then Mors Principium may be the Slayer of melodeath. " Just like thrash，not everyone want "Nu-Thrash"，even lots of people hate it. Then what do you want from melodeath？ Progressive？Technical？Doom？Folk？Viking？Modern？？Cheesy-Melody like insomnium or OG？Old-school Gothenburg？。。。All is generic！ Next time when the new album of Amon Amarth or Be'lakor is out,I'm sure you'll say the same word.Yes,from now on melodeath is always generic! We have listened so much that someday all can't attract us.

There is no originality left in melodeath and gothenburg, so what counts now is the songrwriting and catchiness.MPE does it perfectly. This is even better than the last album (judging only the new lineup). I agree with bladefall - all their albums were different, but all equally well written.
