Wintersun - Co-Headlining 2015 Paganfest With Turisas

The Paganfest tour is heading out for the seventh time next year and the Finns Wintersun will be co-headlining the trek with Turisas. You can mark your calendars for March 2015. Wintersun will team up with their Finnish comrades Turisas to form the headlining-duo of the upcoming tour. Three other acts will join the normal tour dates and three more will take part in the extended shows. See the tour dates below!

Dutch folksters Heidevolk are the next addition to the billing, presenting their new album as well as tons of band classics. Support acts are the Viking black metallers Obscurity and the epic folk metallers Frosttide.

The Paganfest Extended Shows have always been the absolute highlights of the Paganfest tours throughout all these years. In 2015, folk metal superstars Korpiklaani will add a spicy bunch of folk metal to the bill. They are joined by Hannover's finest Grailknights, who add some melodic death/power metal. Last but definitely not least, German Finsterforst complete the Paganfest 2015 billing.

Tickets are on sale now at this location.

Why can't these tours never come to Scandinavia? Folk metal is quite popular here too

As a Spaniard, I could say the same about this and a thousand more tours. I wish we had in Barcelona half the concerts you have anywhere in Scandinavia.

Too bad Turisas sucks so much, it would have been loads better with any other folk metal band i.e Ensiferum, Trollfest etc.

WTF why is it that every single Paganfest line-up has Ensiferum, Turisas, Wintersun, Heidevolk, Korpiklaani and such totally CRAP so-called folk metal bands?

Oh wait because folk metal fans are suckers for shitty music and fall for the same trap every single time.

Thought exactly the same thing.

The 2012 line-up was sweet with Primordial/Negura Bunget/Sólstafir. But yeah, the average folk metal fan squirms with the same piece of crap all the time as if folk metal was limited to 5 bands.

I went to the 2012 edition of it due to those bands you mentioned. ANd my God was it depressing due to the wussy folk gay ass metal fans actually running away from those three bands. And those three were totally superior to the rest of the line-up.

Hahaha, I could definitely see that. I could use a live showing of Bunget.

The bands are boring again but the atmosphere makes it for me. Just partying with friends. At least they have Grailknights, which gives me an excuse to wear my cape and mask

Yeah, I often get that feeling as well.
I also hate it when I first get into a band and realize they just played somewhere close to me, and by the next time they come I'm not as interested anymore and don't bother...

I remember this line-up and being frustrated to miss it.
But yeah, there are definitely two kinds of folk metal. The one with soul, depth and meaning, and the lightweight partydrink one.
