Stratovarius - Announce New Album, Tour Dates

Two years after they released Nemesis, Stratovarius are unleashing Eternal. As usual, the power metallers don't waste much time between releases. Stratovarius have broken their year long silence to reveal they are in the studio completing a new record. Eternal will be out in August 14th, 2015 so mark your calendars!

The trilogy of albums Polaris, Elysium and Nemesis were released close to each other as the consequence of the renewed creative energy the band gained following the arrival of new members to support the historical members Kotipelto, Johansson and Michael.

Keyboardist Jens Johansson reflects: "Since Polaris we have released a new studio album pretty much every two years but after Nemesis, we all decided to take a little bit of time off after we finished the world tour. Now we're all tanned and rested and it's about f***ing time to get back into the saddle. Everybody has been busy the last few months writing lots of new songs, and only the best has been recorded for Eternal."

Looking forward to the album, but kinda sucks that most of the big power metal bands only seem to play England in the UK these days, be nice if they came north of the border

You know, I thought that they were sunk when Tolki left... boy was I wrong! This is great news indeed.

Think bands are scared of going to Scotland as Nicola Sturgeon has claimed she should control metal as well as oil.

Yeah, to be honest, I think the stuff they've been releasing over the past few years is the best they've ever released. I enjoy older strato for sure, but feel that's it's a bit overrated.
