Halo of Blood was good enough to give me real hope for I Worship Chaos, even with such a moronic title, but this is about as boring and uninspired as they have ever been. It's uncomfortably silly and generic - but now it's not even generic Children of Bodom anymore. It's just generic metalcore, of all things.

SO.
GOD.
DAMN.
BAD.

Everything up to Hate Crew was great, and Are You Dead Yet? had some good bits, but then... it's like we're listening to a shitty Bodom ripoff band now.

I have to admit I somewhat enjoy Bodoms semi-mid tempo songs. This one is one of them too, although I think their first 2 albums are their best work.

Again it's not bad, but this could've been any song off the last 4/5 albums. *hides behind Hatebreeder CD*

Yeah, this is bad. I liked "Halo of Blood" quite a lot, but I don't have any expectations here.

Yeah, Halo of Blood is feeling more and more like a fluke.

Completely agree with this.

Honestly didn't see what all the fuss was about Halo, but unfortunately it gave me just enough hope that this album could be decent, just decent is all I want, but doesn't look like thats gonna happen. Another album onto the shitpile.

I find this one slightly better than the last song they released but that doesn't mean anything. It's still totaly unoriginal and a song CoB could have done for any of the other more recent albums as well. And I better don't even get started about the lyrics... why do you have to do a lyrics video for such horrible lyrics? ...

Where the fuck is the guitar solo? I suppose I should be thankful to hear a keyboard solo anymore from this band, thought those were a thing of the past. But no guitar solo kinda surprised me...maybe it shouldnt' have? Oh well.

I'm a little bit tired of waiting for them to release a good album. Everything they've released since 2008 is crap, and they don't release a good album since 2000. Yes, SINCE 2000!!! 15 fucking years. After Follow the reaper, they've realeased some good songs, but not good albums as a whole. Hate Crew Deathroll has got some good songs (Needled 24/7 is one of their bests), but it was not as good as FTR. If every song of HCDR were as good as Needled 24/7, it would be probably their best, but unfortunately not all its songs are that good. But I don't consider HCDR to be the album when they became a lame band, it's still a great album if you compare it with the crap they've been releasing from 2008. If HCDR was not as good as FTR, AYDY was another down in their music quality (this time moooore drastic than HCDR), it has some decent songs specially "Thrashed, lost and strongout". And then in 2008 the disaster started with Blooddrunk, and even worst than Blooddrunk is RRF... God, that album is a pile of crap. It's true that Halo of Blood was better than their last 2 albums, but man, if you call that "a comeback" you don't really know the true potential this band has, and how creative they were. And after listening to the songs from their upcoming album they have unveiled so far, I'm starting to think that "I worship chaos" is gonna be even worse than RRF. The homonym track is by far their worst song ever.

The worst of all is to read that stupid comments written by 11 year old kids saying that "if you don't love every single song/album a band releases, then you're not a true fan of that band. What kind of reatarded idea is that?!?!?!? So if you love eating at Taco Bell but one day they release a taco made of cockroaches and human babies, you should love it anyway just because is a Taco Bell product? Sorry but that's not a valid argument for me. And I'm not writting this because I hate Children Of Bodom. I fucking love Children of Bodom. I started playing the guitar when I was 14 because I wanted to play as Alexi Laiho someday, and this is a true story. Everytime someone asks me which are my favourite bands I always say Children of Bodom is one of them. And also, I still get excited everytime the announce a new album, but sadly I get no more than letdowns.

Doesn't mean it's not a good riff though.

This. Exactly this. I remember the first time I heard them; a friend of mine put on Follow The Reaper (the song itself) and I was hooked immediatly. Got home from school that day, started downloading everything I could find of them (this was in 2002, so it was all just amazing stuff), bought FTR and Hatebreeder a few days later and my first concert was them perfoming about 100km away, but I had to go. HCD came, still pretty awesome. I was still very much a fanboy when they released AYDY, bought it the day it was released, went home to listen to it and it was one of the biggest let-downs ever. A few years later Blooddrunk came and I still bought it within a few days because I thought AYDY was probably just some weird experiment or something. Never have I been so wrong. Same story with RRF and Halo Of Blood; excitement at first, total buzzkill when released.

It's the same thing all over again this time; I hadn't listened to any of the songs from their new album untill now, and it's just not Bodom anymore. They just keep releasing crap again and again, which makes me sad, because they will always be one of my all-time favourite bands. No matter what kind of crap they release after this next album, I'mg still going to look forward to it when they announce it. Follow The Reaper and Hatebreeder are some of the best albums I have ever heard; that won't change. It just sucks major balls they will probably never release anything remotely as good as those albums.
