Pantera - Two Compilations On The Way

Two new compilations are coming from Pantera this year! History Of Hostility, a nine-track Pantera primer that includes some of Pantera's most legendary tracks from five studio albums, will be released on CD and LP on October 30th, just in time for Halloween. The influential metal band disbanded back in 2003, followed by the untimely death of guitar genius Dimebag Darrell in 2004 but the other members are involved in other bands. Their music, however, lives on.

Rhino will also be releasing a new boxed set and single disc compilation. The Complete Studio Albums 1990-2000, compiled of Cowboys From Hell (1990), Vulgar Display Of Power (1992), Far Beyond Driven (1994), The Great Southern Trendkill (1996), and Reinventing The Steel (2000). Two versions of the collection will be released on December 11th, one a 5-CD set and the other a limited edition 5-LP set on colored vinyl. The LP version of the studio albums box also includes a 7" with two rare, non-albums tracks making their vinyl debut. The first is "Piss," a song that debuted in 2012 on the 20th Anniversary Edition of Vulgar Display Of Power. The second is "Avoid The Light" from the Dracula 2000 soundtrack.

Call me when they (by which I mean that greedy, living off your dead brother's legacy asshole Vinnie Paul) decides to release the 80's stuff. Yeah most of it was crap but I'd snatch up a reissue of Power Metal yesterday if they did. The only Pantera album other than Cowboys From Hell that isn't overrated, lowest common denominator pandering shit.

Which is by far thier worst of the 80s albums. Phil should be shot for that one alone. Everything afterwards was superior to it as well.

I am of course talking about Pantera Superjoint stuff though crappy is still superior to stuff such as Viking Crown
