I'd rather see these guys just wrap up that album fans have waited for since forever! Then maybe a world tour, instead of just random US shows. It's been over 3200 days now since the last album. Wonder if they wanna make it 10000 days jsut to somehow justify the failure.

It's the band's choice what they're doing, not yours.. If they're not interested in making a new Tool album, why should they do so then?
I have to admit that I would really appreciate a European tour though tbh..

Agreed, always US shows, never Europe... Would be fun to see them any time before I die at least.

What failure? They are under no obligations to make a new album whatsoever. Get over yourself.

The failure of promising countless times to deliver a new album, and never doing so. In my opinion it is a professional failure if you can't deliver the work you have promised in time. I know this is about art, inspiration and not forcing stuff and what not. But too me all those things seem like poor excuses for a band that just can't top their earlier work. I think they even lost the intrest in doing so somewhere along the road with those lawsuits and "side" projects. Aren't you tired of waiting or did you give up hope already? Or do you just not like Tool and don't care? (In that case why are you even commenting in this thread?)

Hey, my profile picture might be blurry but it is actually a joke about the new Tool album

I wouldn't comment if I did not like the band, of course. Great band, I love all of their albums (even the debut). I think it's fully understandable that they lost their magic due to all shit that happened around them the last few years. And they are still working on the album. As I said, they are under no obligations whatsoever to satisfy the masses. I actually feel sorry for them, for having to put up with such an incessant fanbase. I'll just quote M.J. Keenan regarding their fans from a Phoenix New Times interview: "Insufferable people. It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up."

I didn't mean to offend you (but I suppose Keenan did...) but it's getting frustrating reading these self-centered statements anywhere Tool are mentioned. Meanwhile, I'll sit back and enjoy the new Puscifer album. Good stuff there, even though it kind of started as a bad joke.

I'm not offended in anyway by your comments, not so sure about Keenan's though. Actually based on a lot of interviews with Keenan he is not in any position to represent Tool. He has shifted the blame for the delay to the remaining members of the band for quite some time now. Keenan said, according to metalinjection about a year ago; "I write lyrics and melodies to music. If I don't have music, I can't."

Tool is one of my all time favourite bands and as a fan I think I have the right to be dissapointed in both the fact that Tool hasn't been to Finland (where I live) since 2003 and haven't kept the promise of publishing a new album. I really don't see a point in leaving fans hanging in hope of this, if they aren't gonna make another album thats fine, but they could just say so then. That after all is the better decision if they can't make it good enough. But for now I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Oh and hey... maybe that middlefingerthingy in my first post came off a bit strong. I'm really not that pissed off about this.
