Lemmy Kilmister - Official Cause Of Death Revealed

Motörhead's frontman Lemmy Kilmister died from prostate cancer, congestive heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia, according to his death certificate. It was widely reported he battled an aggressive form of cancer before his death, but it has now been confirmed by TMZ that it was prostate cancer.

The legendary rocker had battled serious health issues for quite some time, cancelling shows, and he was 70 years old when he passed in December. Lemmy celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve (December 24th) and learned two days later that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer.

The band's manager Todd Singerman said Lemmy performed through his illness in the past few years in order to not let his fans down: "To think of the balls it took to still play shows for the fans, to do the last show two weeks ago - and then drop? That's like a Rocky story to me. Courage at its best. [...] He was dying. He didn't know it, but his body must have felt it. He had nothing left."

Hmm so if I get it right : he had cancer but didn't know it ? Had to cancel gigs for health issue but no medical exam was done ? How can you die from cancer in a couple of days ? There must be serious warnings signs before that, no ?

PS : sorry, corrected a typo

Weird how after being renowned for taking a huge amount of alcohol and drugs, it was the cancer that got to him.

As far as i'm aware you won't know you know have prostate cancer until you have a prostate exam. The ongoing health issues may have been a side effect from the untreated cancer buildup over time or just some other health issue. I'm no doctor but that's what I gauge from this.

What I find strange is that his prostate was never checked up on. In most normally developed western countries men above a certain age get regular prostate check-ups.

Ye, seems like more questions arise from this update than answers.

True. Should consider that some blokes from his era are (or were) too proud to get a check up.
I had a mate die recently from a tumor on his liver. It was 23cm long and he never knew. Died not long after finding out.

I can't believe they never checked. Seems impossible to me after his health issues.

There's a key word in your post that says it all...........MOST. He must not have been in the most club. The question I would like to hear answered is: Why say brain cancer when the cause death will be made public within a short period of time? Was there really cancer found in the brain/neck area at all? Was the prostate totally overlooked by doctors who should have caught it earlier?

It is not at all surprising to me that he developed cancer. Lemmy was a speed freak and the amount of toxic chemicals that are used to make meth eventually take their toll. Good friend of mine developed liver cancer due to meth. Good possibility that was the culprit.
