Moonsorrow - Reveal New Album Cover, Tracklist, Shows

Finnish folk metal masters Moonsorrow have a huge announcement regarding their new opus, the band's seventh album. We already knew that it was titled Jumalten Aika which translates to 'The Age Of Gods' in English but now we know much more. The band has also revealed the album's cover artwork, tracklist and a list of tours for the upcoming months. The album is scheduled to invade the market on April 1st, 2016 via Century Media Records.

Henri Sorvali (Keyboards, vocals, guitars, folk instruments) commented: "There are a lot more folk music influences present in Jumalten Aika than earlier, this time around, they are more deeply integrated to the overall sound. Jumalten Aika is like a circling wolf biting the hardest when you would never expect it. The music is unchained aggression, deep mysteries of the North and thundering witchcraft combined together in a molten forge of the Gods and reminds us all of something that never left our blood and soil."

Tracklist:
01. Jumalten Aika (12:43)
02. Ruttolehto incl. Päivättömän Päivän Kansa (15:21)
03. Suden Tunti (7:06)
04. Mimisbrunn (15:55)
05. Ihmisen Aika (Kumarrus Pimeyteen) (16:00)

Bonus disc:
01. Soulless (Grave cover) (3:18)
02. Non Serviam (Rotting Christ cover) (5:10)

Great news! And I wasn't expecting that cover of Non Serviam, that must be interesting in folk black style!

Almost glad there's no Stockholm show planned. Now I don't have to think about if it's worth seeing one of the greatest bands out there; when it also means I would have to endure seeing Korpiklaani...

Worthless combo.

You don't have to see Korpiklaani. Last time they were in my area, it was them with Korpiklaani headlining. I spent Korpiklaani's whole set chatting with Ville at the bar.

Which is why they have, very wisely, apparently decided that Korpiklaani plays last. Which means you don't have to endure that crap, you can just walk away.

I was seriously tempted to skip it, but if it's a co-headline tour as it says, hopefully that means Moonsorrow will play first yet still get a headline-worthy set time, meaning I can miss Korpiklaani and get home early; as such I might just make the effort. I'm honestly struggling to think of any band I would less like to see than Korpiklaani though; not even Sabaton is that bad

My attempt at translations (4th track name is Old Norse):

1. Age of Gods
2. Plague Grove incl. People of Dayless Days (or something like that, maybe refers to polar night)
3. Wolf's Hour
4. Mímir's Well (where Odin sacrified an eye for wisdom)
5. Age of Humans (A Bow Before Darkness)
