Dream Theater - Release 'Our New World' Video

Dream Theater have been touring and performing their new concept album The Astonishing live in its entirety. It is about a dystopian futuristic society where music is no longer created by people and is instead made by machines. Their new video for "Our New World," a song from Act II, was filmed during one of those shows in Milan, Italy, and captures how audiences have responded to the performance.

The entirety of The Astonishing live? Why would you do that to yourself?

The album isn't BAD... it's just very far from great or memorable. There are two standout tracks, and then the rest of it is just like "well, this isn't BAD, but I'm not necessarily enjoying it, either."

No standing and no squishing on this tour. Everyone gets a seat. That's why they are not performing at typical concert venues but seated theaters, etc.

Even as a big DT fan, I think that would be hard to endure. The album isn't interesting enough for that.

I saw them last week in Oakland, and it was very much worth it. Granted, the album is not your typical DT album, but that is what makes it interesting. I have seen them six times in concert, so it is cool to see them playing something different. There are many songs that start up with a slow piano, but they vary a lot as the song goes on and move into more prog and heavy passages.

I was considering getting tickets for this tour but decided against it; think it was probably for the best. The solo's good enough but I almost fell asleep during the first minute or so.

I am sorry everyone, but I have listened to the album a few times and it is great. I can tell a lot of work went into making this album. As for seeing it live, I saw them perform The Astonishing at Radio City Music Hall and it was epic. The crowd really enjoyed it and the execution was top notch! You can not knock something until you try it or see it for yourself.
