Amaranthe - Reveal More New Album Details

Recently, Amaranthe revealed that their new album would be called Maximalism and now they have unveiled more pieces of the puzzle. That includes the cover that will grace the record as well as the song titles. But the band has also revealed more about the sound of the album, which fans can expect to be diverse, according to them. This triple-lead-vocal attack is due out via Spinefarm Records on October 21st. Mark your calendars!

Maximalism was produced once again by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Delain) and mastered by Svante Forsback (Rammstein, Apocalyptica, DragonForce).

Tracklist:
01. Maximize
02. Boomerang
03. That Song
04. 21
05. On The Rocks
06. Limitless
07. Fury
08. Faster
09. Break Down And Cry
10. Supersonic
11. Fireball
12. Endlessly

Says lead guitarist, Olof Morck: "Maximalism is our manifesto to the world! We are genuinely thrilled with the new material, definitely our most diverse collection to date; our trademark bleeding edge modern metal remains intact, of course, but fused with an even broader range of genres than before... theres everything here including stadium rock, innovative pop and danceable super-hits. Expect these tunes to enter your mind on a permanent basis!"

I have no idea how to feel about this. On one hand, this is Amaranthe we're talking about. They know exactly what they're doing. No other band has succeeded as well in fusing modern synthpop with metal as Amaranthe. So of all the bands to make this claim, Amaranthe is by far the best suited to the job. No matter what you think of the unholy abomination of genres that is this band, you have to admit that it could have been so, so much worse.

On the other hand, it's sounding like they're continuing their move away from their first two albums, and its style of power metal guitars and beauty-and-beast vocals. Massive Addictive was good, but it's possibly the only time where I say that I wasn't a fan of the groovy guitars. I wish they would still make songs like "Rain" or "Afterlife". The Nexus is one of my all-time most played albums simply because there is literally nothing else even close to Amaranthe's first two albums. If I'm in a sugary pop mood, nothing fills my needs better than Amaranthe's first two albums. I can't say the same for their latest album, which feels tame in comparison.

I'm a sucker for this band. Absolutely love their albums, and I'm definitely pretty stoked for this release, too.
