Starkill - Share New Music Video

Melodic death metallers Starkill just shared their new music video. The track used is called "Burn Your World" and is taken from their upcoming record titled Shadow Sleep which will be out via Prosthetic Records on the 4th of November. The Illinois-based metallers recorded and mixed at Electrowerks Studio with Chuck Macak (Fall of Troy, Oceano, Letlive). Listen to the first new track here.

"As the chorus boldly states: 'This is who I am!', comments vocalist/lead guitarist Parker Jameson, "'Burn Your World' was one of the first songs we had written for our new album, Shadow Sleep, and we knew from the get-go that this album would finally go into the musical direction we had always wanted to take the band. We wanted bigger melodies, more clean vocals, more anthemic choruses, and didn't hold anything back or let anything get in the way of the sound we wanted. Shadow Sleep is a huge step for Starkill, and we couldn't feel more proud or accomplished."

I was talking to them in person awhile ago and they said this album will definitely be a huge departure from their extreme melodic metal sound. Sounds like the new album will basically be symphonic metal, according to their words. I'm really hyped for it either way. They've really seemed to mature more and more with each release.

I also got the chance to talk with them in Chicago a few weeks ago. The set they played (opening for Black Crown Initiate and Ne Obliviscaris) was three songs off of Virus of the Mind and three songs off of the new album, including this one. This song is incredible, but I'll honestly say that this was the third-best of the three new songs. The new stuff sounds more melodic but just as heavy, hard-hitting, get-caught-in-a-mosh inducing as ever. Proud to be a native Chicagoan like these guys!! Good to see such a kickass band emerge from the Chicagoland metal scene.
