Dark Tranquillity - Nominated For Swedish Grammis Awards

Dark Tranquillity's new album Atoma is being well-received and even the Swedish Grammis Awards took notice. The legendary Gothenburg melodic death metal pioneers were nominated with their new album Atoma. In the hard rock/metal category, the other nominees are Amaranthe's Maximalism album, Ghost's Popestar EP, In Flames' new album Battles and Cult Of Luna's collaboration with Julie Christmas, Mariner.

Who do you think should win the award?

Frontman Mikael Stanne comments: "We are honored that in a year of amazing Swedish albums our own Atoma has been nominated for the Swedish Grammis awards. We are indeed in good company among the nominees and we cannot wait for the awards ceremony and the inevitable party afterwards!"

The event will take place on the 28th of February.

Either DT or Cult of Luna should win this. Anything else would be dissapointing.

And In Flames album should be in the "they never should have done that" category imo.

I dunno, an award nomination for 4 min of new material on an album? I love ghost, but geez. New IF is really good, but maybe not metal. DT should win this one.

Out of those choices, absolutely Dark Tranquillity deserve to win. Atoma is my 2nd favorite album this year after Omnium Gatherum's Grey Heavens.

In case In Flames would win, this would be very reminscent of the 89's Grammys for Metallica

I listened to the other bands to make an opinion and geez, wtf is Amaranthe ? Stop early 2000s dumb techno mixed up with girls band singing ? Early albums remind me of early Sonic Syndicate which is good but their current direction is no good at all

As for Cul of Luna it seemingly seems the only decent pretender to DT even tho Atoma's got my voice ^^

Seems like a popularity contest with In Flames, Ghost and Amaranthe with only two good releases, DT and Cult of Luna.

DT for the win
