Finnish doom lords Astral Sleep are currently working on their new and third album. However, they are being very secretive about it and how it will be released. The band will play live for the first time in six years at the Saarnifest 1 in Finland this November.

Astral Sleep posted this message on their Facebook page recently: "It has been more than 7 years since the last time we wrote music together. The slumber is over and the beast known as Astral Sleep is awake again. However, all this time The Beast has been dreaming. The dreams, nightmares, fantasies and visions in the subconsciousness of this gargantuan entity will be brought into the light and 'into the real world' for our 3rd album.

"We are not making a 4-track album with various riffs and melodies put together in an order to make a song. NO! What we are creating is an esoteric thesis. A spiritual journey. It could be a movie script, a book, a game, hieroglyphs inside an ancient temple or whatever. But as musicians, we create music. Our 'bible' will be presented as audio. But unlike the actual bible, we are not going to shove it down your throat, murder your family and burn your current altars to get more followers. We will make it available, you may review it and you will apply it to your own life, or you won't. But what format will it be available? Who knows? Stay tuned for the next rant and come see us play live for the first time in over 6 years in Saarnifest 1 !"
