Kamelot - New Album Update, Set For April 2018
Kamelot have also released a new album update. The symphonic metallers confirmed an expected release date for April 2018 on Napalm Records with distribution from Universal and Warner. Their latest output was 2015's Haven. So, fans will have to wait a few more months for the new material.
The band said: "New Kamelot album is being finished soon and very secretive. Special guests are being kept under wraps and songs are coming along great."
"We are knee deep in this and working with Sascha Paeth again is going great. We have some very special moments on this one that are once in a decade type moments!" adds guitarist Thomas Youngblood.

The album artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann with photos by Tim Tronckoe photography. Kamelot's first tour on the new album will be their headliner North American Tour 2018 with very special guests Delain and special guests Battle Beast.

I disagree, every album that has been under Karevik has been a utter disaster. This isn't Karevik's fault because he isn't a bad singer at all, but how Youngblood wants him to sing is ruining Kamelot.

I'd be quite disappointed if they release an album in the same vein as Silverthorn and Haven. I can't help drawing a parallel with Nightwish: here we have two bands with a potentially amazing singer for their music, but somehow a sense of "must cling to the past" prevents the full potential to materialize.

Written by Polaria on 30.10.2017 at 21:53 Or they simply lack the creativity to do something more entertaining. In both bands, an additional songwriter could change things, for better or worse. In Kamelot, I think it is time to kinda scrap Palotai and move Youngblood behind and make space for another songwriter. As for Nightwish, they should start playing metal for once and scrap the movie soundtracks that Tuomas has been shitting for quite a while. I suspect that the band leaders in both bands might have ego issues. With Tuomas, I am quite sure of it, not sure with Youngblood.

Nightwish's albums were remarkably varied up until Endless Forms Most Beautiful. Personally, I think Tuomas screwed himself when he asked Troy to join because it's forced him to find stuff for him to do. Completely agree with you about Silverthorn and Haven though: the sound's gone stale.
