Cor Scorpii - Are Back With New Record

Ten silent years are over! Good news for Cor Scorpii fans, because the black metal band has announced a new album called Ruin and also revealed its details. After the debut, Monument, the new record will drop on the 15th June on Dark Essence Records.

The result of a lengthy, and at times arduous, song writing process, Ruin draws its inspiration from classical music, folk melodies and the soundscapes of Nordic extreme metal. Revealing the hidden talents that can be found amongst its members, Cor Scorpii have, on Ruin, made use of instruments that are unusual for a metal band, such as the accordion and mandolin.

Recorded at various locations over a period of three years, Ruin was mixed by Børge Finstad in his Toproom Studio, and mastered by Tom Kvålsvoll at his Kvalsonic Lab. Seamlessly blending epic, soaring melodies, with the harshness of extreme metal, the album includes guest appearances by the classical singer Annika Beinnes, as well as Mats Lerberg who lend their considerable vocal talents to three tracks each.

With artwork by Novans V. Adikresna of the Marnov Studio, tracklisting on Ruin is as follows:

01. Svart Blod (Hovmod star for fall)
02. Hjarteorm
03. Skuggevandrar
04. Fotefar
05. Helveteskap
06. Ri di Mare
07. Ærelaus
08. Siste Dans

Man, these guys announced this album like 8 fucking years ago. And accordion isn't a new element for them, Windir was mostly hinged on Valfar's accordion talents.
Kick Ass, Die Young

Less is More
Stay Pure
Stay Poor

Music was my life, music brought me to life and music is how I will be remembered long after I leave this life. When I die there will be a final waltz in my head that only I can hear.

Good shit. The last album had a few sections with a little classical flavor, it sounds like the next will have more and I'm happy about that.

I'm very curious about the upcoming new album. The debut was one of my favourite.
