High On Fire - Reveal New Album Details And Title Track

Are you ready for some High On Fire? You'd better be! It was just revealed that their new LP, Electric Messiah, will be released on October 5th via eOne. The stoner metallers premiered today the title track from Electric Messiah, the band's tribute to Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister. Check it out here as well as the album artwork and tracklist below.

"When Lemmy was still alive I always got compared to Lemmy, so I had this dream where he got pissed at me," Pike says via a press release. "He gave me a bunch of s***, basically, and was hazing me. Not that he didn't approve of me, but like I was being hazed. The song is me telling the world that I could never fill Lemmy's shoes, because Lemmy's Lemmy. I wanted to pay homage to him in a great way. And it turned out to be such a good title that the guys said we should call the album Electric Messiah. Although at first the working title was Insect Workout With Lemmy."

Kurt Ballou (Converge) returns as producer for Electric Messiah, continuing an inspired studio relationship that's yielded De Vermis Mysteriis and Luminiferous.

Incredible album art. High on Fire always bring dope art.

I love all their albums thus far, so this is another Album of the Year contender already.

Really hoping for another Death Is This Communion, i.e. another top 20 album of all time. But the last bunch have been solid.

If the music video is any indication, it's not gonna be another DITC. Still looking forward to it, though. RIP Lemmy
