Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame - Def Leppard, Rage Against The Machine Nominated

Def Leppard and Rage Against The Machine are among the nominees for next year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame class. Rage Against The Machine are nominated for a second year in a row. Also nominated are Radiohead, MC5, Stevie Nicks, The Cure, Devo, Janet Jackson, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, Roxy Music, Todd Rundgren, John Prine, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and The Zombies.

The top vote-getters will be announced in December and inducted March 29th, 2019 at a ceremony at Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center. HBO will broadcast the event later next year.

To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to released in 1993 or earlier.

While the RRHOF Class of 2019 is decided by an international body of more than 1,000 voting members, fans can impact the vote by casting a ballot (one a day) until December 9th for the artist they think needs to be in the Hall's ranks. You can cast your vote over here.

Went to the hall of fame last year. It was stupid. I was expecting some kind of a shrine for all the inducted bands but nah, I couldn't even tell the difference between those that were actually inducted and those that just had some memorabilia there. Pretty sure these awards are just for a yearly display they put up to get people to come in and after that they're just another band.

I really don't care if a band gets in or not, to mean being in something like this doesn't mean shit, but I do enjoy watching the inductions, because I get to see someone else talk about that band, then see the band talk, then the band or someone else plays their songs. I would love to watch that for The Cure.

I don't care what music they produced after the 80's but Def Leppard are one of a kind. "Pyromania" is one of the best albums in rock history.

The Zombies, MC5, Kraftwerk, The Cure & Rage Against the Machine deserve it for their immeasurable influence on rock and metal.

Since they've already been inducting 1 rapper per year, LL Cool J definitely deserves it. He influenced everyone after him and was even called the greatest rapper alive at his peak.

For sure. The Cure definitely deserve the recognition. One of a kind band. Probably not gonna get it though.

Kraftwerk rocking and rolling the world since 1970. They deserve to be included in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, since their influence on Rock 'n' Roll Music is at least equal to Jimi Hendrix' influence on modern Techno Music or Motörhead's influence on todays Hip-Hop...

Another masochistic circle jerk, where what is the very essence of Rock music is disrespected, the continued nominations of artists who had nothing to do with Rock is insulting. Nine Inch Nails should have already been inducted along with a dozen other hard rock and metal artists that are no brainers. I would assume RATM would be a no brainer but that's what I thought about NIN.

I don't have a problem with anyone on this list except JJ and LL Cool J, but their presence sticks in my craw. Disrespected by the Grammys, shit on by the Hall of Fame....what is this shit? There really needs to be a competing HOF. Hip hop is shoved down our throats by Corporate America 24/7 and even an institution that is ostensibly about celebrating and promoting Rock, is instead disrespecting it and almost belittling it.

There's a wall with their names carved in it, but that's it. Not even the best music hall of Fame in Cleveland. That's the National Cleveland-style Polka Hall of Fame.
