1914 - Stream New Video Clip
"C'est Mon Dernier Pigeon", a new video from Ukraine based metal unit 1914, has been launched. The track for this video is taken off the group's The Blind Leading The Blind album, released in November, 2018. This video clip, directed by Tementiy Pronov, can be viewed below.
Says the band on video: "We prodly present you our first video for the song "C'est Mon Dernier Pigeon". The events displayed in the video tell us the story of the Fort Vaux defence during the battle of Verdun in 1916. A handful of brave French soldiers under the command of Major Raynal resisted the outstanding German forces, numbered around 600 hundred men the defenders were capable to destroy more than 3000 of the enemy soldiers but were doomed to fail. After the surrender of the fort garrison, the German army group commander Crown Prince Wilhelm, presented Major Raynal with a French officer's sword as a sign of respect. Surely, the appropriate act as for the last war of the gentlemen."

That's not bad. I like the war theme. The title is weird - 'C'est Mon Dernier Pigeon' for people who don't speak French is 'This Is My Last Pigeon'.

Written by deadbraincells on 08.05.2019 at 02:58 I do not think the title is any weird.  Just like you said, the video is dealing with the great war (WWI). Carrier pigeons are being used for thousands of years and in countless battles, to submit important messages from the frontline to the command center and vice versa. So this is a song about the last homer pigeon, representing the very last chance to call for reinforcement in a gruesome and senseless war. I think it's a brilliant song title with a strong message. I love the visual aspect and the symbolism: in times of war, even white pigeons (the universal sign of peace) are being abused to serve as means of war. But on the other hand, the pigeon (representing peace) is the soldier's last hope and the ultimate resort.
