Blind Guardian - Cover Artwork For Upcoming Orchestral Album Revealed

As it has been revealed months ago, on November 1st Blind Guardian will unleash an orchestral album, titled Legacy Of The Dark Lands. Today, they present the album's cover artwork, which was created by the renowned artist Gyula Havancsák. On July 19th the pre-orders for the upcoming album will kick off. Stay tuned for more details.

Hansi Kürsch comments on album's cover artwork: "The cover artwork by Gyula Havancsák just perfectly fits our upcoming project and I think it's a true masterpiece. Gulya's love for details is incredible and his ability to see behind complex stories and reproduce them in art is amazing. We are more than happy since he could absolutely capture the monumental atmosphere of the music. Literally a perfect match!"

The Entity
Not a great-looking cover, specially for them. Looking forward to hearing it though, being 20 years in the making

Yeah the cover art could have been better. It's not bad, just not as good as we're used to with Blind Guardian.

I'm really curious how this one will turn out though. Really hope this one will be a truly unique and strong record in the BG discography.

I agree with both of you guys. Not the best art for BG and especially for this so awaited project, but at the end what matters is the music

Strange sort of artwork, with an obvious Game of Thrones vibe. Not sure why there's a pirate walking along with that army of orcs(?) either. Seems a little weird.

I'm really looking forward to the music though. It's been built up so far that it can't possibly live up to expectations, but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

Is this just orchestral, or a metal album w/ an orchestra accompanying the band?

Hopefully the quality will sound way better than their previous effort. It sounded like they recorded through an 8-track. And the music was excellent. Just can't enjoy more than one song in session when the production ruins your hearing...

Guns, Deamons, Gorillas, Orcs, Sorcerer, Magic, Destruction, War, well a bit of everything, But nicer than ANATO which was ugly (because they lost the artwork like 2 weeks before the print and had to make a new one) but the album was a masterpiece, so who care ...

Same tbh. It's not their absolute best but I did quite like it. The best one has to be the one in your profile pic or SFB. And honestly I think BTRM is up there as well in terms of art.

My favorite one indeed is my avatar And from Machado his best one is between the A Voice In The Dark single and BTRM Special Edition (the red one, I have the earbook and it looks AMAZING).
