I honestly hope he is just very successful at trolling. I find him hilarious with the language he uses in his reviews and stuff, but I also get why no one wants to be roasted by their peers

I mean to be honest? Good for them. If they pretend that this stuff is going to new music mostly then yeah, not good that they're lying. But it's great they found a way to make a living more unconditionally. If only it wasn't Wintersun, but actually a band that might produce some good stuff every once in a while, I'm not opposed to the concept.
And yeah of course others make it work, while still having a normal job. Or just touring a lot maybe. But I think this is kinda ideal for producing interesting music, not having to worry about shit outside of it.
But again, this is Wintersun we're talking about and they won't do that anyways.

I love Wintersun. I bought the debut on its release date (because it was by that guy from Ensiferum). I'm even the only person in the world who considers The Forest Seasons a 10/10 masterpiece. But this is bullshit and Jari can go f himself for attempting to take advantage of his fanbase (again).
ultimate editions of previously already remastered rehearsals (!)
After all the lulz I thought "hey, it's not impossible he has actually sold something like that".
So please tell me you came up with that yourself and he hasn't really done it.
My friend, don't want you to miss anything! Here, the remaster of a rehearsal by Jari itself:
Someone highlighted that Jari is posting some shit on facebook about the comments, haven't checked it yet but this is already drama of the year candidate.

It's funny how Billie Eilish wins Grammy for bedroom song and Jari here keeps begging for money even though if he was working throughout this whole time the studio would already exist and he'd be "making Time II" lol.

Btw that remaster is good tho
He managed to finish Time I (and later remaster it) without a professional studio and it sounds extremely good. Why did he not release Time II? Because he's using it to get his studio. He said in that crowdfunding that he's okay with not releasing new music, that they can sit in his computer forever and in order to release Time II and any new music, he needs his studio.
This isn't normal. He's mocking fans on Facebook page, lol. And he's talking some bullshit about how all Patreon money are HIS money and he's not obligatory to explain ANYTHING to ANYBODY. Arrogant prick! 650,000 Euros for what? To release half album? Scum. They've got money from touring, money from merch, from album sales, they've got Nuclear Blast. Fuck him! Not even fake penny for him!

With all that money, he could hire someone to handle his social media, because he clearly can't. Telling people they have no business asking him how he spends that money is ludicrous when the whole point of that crowdfunding was to raise money to build their studio. But he knows he has really gullible fans, so...

I agree with you if you're talking about his ability to promote and generate hype for anything - he could sell air and a lot of his fans would buy it, but he can get quite defensive dealing with criticism.
I do love Wintersun's music but I feel like everytime I read news about this band they are begging for money. I'm not against crownfunding but when you're under Nuclear Blast that's too far. Jari strikes me as the type of person with no real concept of money, constantly wanting the best tools (so, the most expensive), a bit like a child. Why won't they tour more instead? I'm sure it would attrack new fans and satisfy the old ones, therefore more money.
And now Jari has made a post of excuses on the band's facebook page. All of those who have openly disapproved of the Patreon are wrong and other stuff. It is really difficult to be a fan of this band right now.

I will not reason and compare, my business is to create.
I used to really love this band. The self-titled was one of the first extreme metal albums I picked up and I loved Time I. But ever since the studio crowdfunding nonsense, they've just been on a huge downturn ever since.
but when you're under Nuclear Blast that's too far
Nuclear Blast probably gave 0 euros for previous album. I guess same goes for the next two.
Granted, I don't know a lot about the music industry but that makes no sense, I don't see why a label wouldn't invest at all in their artists. Especially one of the most important label. I think it would be more logical that Jari ended up dissatisfied with what they gave him.

That makes no sense because you're not familiar with the story, like many others. Most likely the deal was "no advance and no revenue in exchange for letting you run the crowdfunding". It becomes pretty obvious if you follow the recording info of The Forest Seasons, it's a 100% DIY album except for choirs/backs and artwork. 'Fake drums and subpar mastering' equals to 'I had no money from the label'.
