Shakra - Bassist Left The Band, Introduce Replacement

Hard rockers Shakra have confirmed that their bass player Dominik Pfister is leaving the band after 12 years. Replacing him as a newest band member will be Cyril Montavon.

Statement from the band: "Dear fans. As we unfortunately had to inform this week, our bassist Dominik Pfister is leaving us. Since every bad news should be followed by good news, we won't let it wait long and welcome Dominik's successor, Cyril Montavon, to the band!

"Cyril is certainly not an unknown face for many fans, as he has been on the same stage several times, as guitarist of the band Maxxwell, who has been on tour with Shakra many times. Cyril, however, is not only a close acquaintance of the band in conjunction with Maxxwell - his story began many years ago as a roadie on the Krokus / Shakra tour anno 2003, while traveling with Shakra all over Germany and Benelux.

"We are happy to have found a good band buddy and future companion on stage in Cyril. He will rock by our side from the first concert to take place on September 19. at Z7 in Pratteln and make the stage quake."

Cyril's message to the fans: "Dear Shakra fans. When the boys asked me if I wanted to join them as a bass player, I agreed without hesitation. Didn't cross my mind until later that I should get bass, amplifier and more material to do this honorable job.

"Meanwhile I'm equipped and practicing like a madman so I can also replace Dominik worthy. Shakra is a matter of my heart for me, few bands have accompanied me so reliably for so long and with always great albums. I can still remember when I was sent a postcard from Thom Blunier to put on the debut album 'Shakra' I did it too and I've been stuck with it ever since.

"I would like to thank the boys for trusting me and am very happy to pull the trigger on stage with Mark, Thom, Thomas and Roger and have a rock 'n' roll party with you!

"And just as excited as you are, I'm waiting for Dominik's guitar attacks. I'm sure this will be great music we hear. Go for it! See you on the road, I look forward to seeing you!"
