Trail Of Tears - Reunited
After 7 long years, legendary Norwegian gothic metal act Trail Of Tears are reformed with refreshed line-up, featuring three original members and new guitarist Nicolay "Jørni" Johnsen and acclaimed female singer Ailyn.
Statement from The group:: After several years of inactivity, Norwegian metal band Trail Of Tears has chosen the plague-ridden 2020 as the year of its return to the scene.
"With a revamped line-up featuring original members Ronny Thorsen (vocals), Runar Hansen (guitars) and Jonathan Alejandro Perez (drums), the band joins forces with long-time member Endre Moe (bass), new guitarist Nicolay "Jørni" Johnsen and acclaimed female singer Ailyn (ex-Sirenia, Her Chariot Awaits).
"New music is in the pipeline, and the band is eager to return to the worldwide live circuit in a massive way once the world allows it.
Furthermore, there are plans to perform several albums in their entirety, to coincide with their upcoming anniversaries. More information to follow shortly. We have missed you all immensely, and can't wait to see you again soon!"

Wow, nice.. I saw them a couple of times live when Helena Iren Michaelsen was still part of the band in the 90's. I never liked the music much they made after her leaving, but them reuniting is kinda nostalgia.

Nostalgia hitting in heavily with this one. I believed Trail of Tears was dead for good. Let's jut hope they get it right this time.

One of my favorite bands, extremely underrated and with Ailyn who has only gotten better with time. This is amazing!!! I can't wait! Just when hope was lost TOT comes back better than ever

Hard to tell. I wish Liv would go back to ToT and they put good gothic doom album, I wish Kari would do same whit Mortal, Gunhild would come and put some good doom album whit good studio work out.

Written by Bad English on 28.12.2020 at 12:08 Wishful thinking.  I think Cathrine and Trail of Tears are done for good, considering their parting was quitte hot-headed. I'm definitely glad Ronny revived ToT, I mean Viper Solfa was OK, but Trail of Tears were just exceptional. In the flood of many gothic bands at the time, they were always so different and unique and the consistency of their sound, putting out good albums one after one, without the "hit or miss" thing going it, is what made me a Trail of Tears fan. On the other hand, Ailyn grew vocally when she was a part of Sirenia, so this might just end up good.
