The Gathering - Cancel For Metal Female Voices Fest 5

The Gathering drummer Hans Rutten has issued the following announcement:

"Due to various circumstances the Gathering decided not to participate at the Metal Female Voices Fest V on the 20th October 2007 in Wieze, Belgium. On various points, such as our position on the bill, we had too much disagreements with the Metal Female Voices Fest management.

We feel sorry to make this decision, but we hope we will play this festival in 2008."

Cheers,
The Gathering

Leaves' Eyes are headlining Metal Female Voices Festival V. Other bands on the bill include After Forever, Battlelore, Distorted, Draconian, Elis, Epica, Imperia, Interria, Seraphim, Sirenia and Valkyre.

Doro has been confirmed to headline the festival pre-show on October 19th, also at the Oktoberhallen in Wieze, Belgium. Other acts scheduled to perform on the night include Holy Moses, Darzamat and Dylath-Leen.

Previously also Theatre Of Tragedy already cancelled their appearance on MFVF 5.

I wonder what he means by "such our position on the bill"? Does anyone know what that dispute is about?

Leaves ' Eyes headlinging? Strange, After Forever is way bigger. And of course had The Gathering played they should have headlined.

And that tooo, hahahahah, but then again I hate most female fronted bands, especially in the symphonic metal genre.

omg, I love female-fronted-metal the best (and gothic metal, doom metal.. lol)
so I'd love to go to MFVF, yet I know It's hard to me, for belgium is far away from here..

But my beloved Gathering and TOT won't be there, I don't want to go very much...
(though draconian rocks hehe)

idk. as much as i love the gathering, i dont honestly think they would have been a good addition to the MMVF.

why? how could i say such horrid and blasphamous words? the gathering are far from metal now. had they been playing epics like 'the may song' and 'sand and mercury' then they sould have made a big impact. but the audience would be expecting some big headbanging stuff...the gathering...not so much

still, i say, the gathering rule in whatever they are doing.
