Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy has issued the following update:

"Hey Gang,
Well we just mastered the album today, so it is now officially finished and will be in the hands of Roadrunner Records tomorrow!

In order to be able to release the info before some obscure fan website in Poland does, here's the final track listing and production credits for ya:

"Systematic Chaos" tracklisting:

01. In The Presence Of Enemies (Part 1)
02. Forsaken
03. Constant Motion
04. The Dark Eternal Night
05. Repentance
06. Prophets Of War
07. The Ministry Of Lost Souls
08. In The Presence Of Enemies (Part 2)

Produced by John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy
Engineered and mixed by Paul Northfield

More info is coming soon, so stayed tuned!"

"This album's got all of the elements we've become known for," reveals drummer Mike Portnoy, who co-produced the CD with guitarist John Petrucci (Paul Northfield engineered and mixed the effort). "The focus on musicianship, the skull-crushing riffs, the big progressive epics and the heart-wrenching melodies. We've got one of the strongest and most devoted fan bases in the world, and they should certainly be happy with the new material." The disc sports seven new songs, one of which runs 25 minutes.

"Systematic Chaos" will be released in June via Roadrunner Records.

I'm absolutely excited about this album. The fact that Dream Theater signed to Roadrunner Records proves absolutely nothing (there have been released great albums like Opeth's "Ghost Reveries" and absolute failures like Trivium's "The Crusade" under this label); on the other hand, Paul Northfield is the guy who mastered that jewel called Operation: Mindcrime. I'm sure Dream Theater shall never let me down, as they never did.

Am I correct remembering the Glass Prison storyline is to be continued? Well they never said it will be followed exactly on this album, but if a 4th part is still coming, it's most likely on Systematic Chaos. I only wonder which song of these it will be... I guess it's "Repentance"

So they haven't published the album cover anywhere yet? Even on an obscure fan website in Poland?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Kool! maybe its new Images>?!
Zeus00 - 22.02.2007 at 02:05
Fucking awesome, can't wait. The fact that they're signed to Roadrunners means nothing at all, as previously stated.

As for The Glass Prison stuff, thats related to Portnoy's drinking problem and shtuff, and I believe that was continued on This Dying Soul, and The Root of All Evil, and should also be continued on this album. Unless you were just stating it startedwith The Glass Prison. =P

I expect a masterpiece as for usual. Portnoy calling it heavy makes me think they're not playing prog rock anymore.
Clint W. - 22.02.2007 at 04:34
This is great! I didn't even think they were this close! I can't wait!
Katatronik - 22.02.2007 at 12:14
Hope that roadrunner didn't change the Dream Theater style (that is a little different in every album anyway...).
Can't wait for it!
Xtreme Jax - 22.02.2007 at 13:10
Woah, didnt know that they were so close in having it finished and releasing it. Cool
GT - 22.02.2007 at 14:12
Wuhu...that's good news. Exited!!
DreamWeaver - 23.02.2007 at 20:26
Hmm, based on the names of the songs and the album, it sounds like a Thrash metal band.
