Blabbermouth is reporting that Anthrax have announced their new lead vocalist. Anthrax have now officially confirmed that it has recruited former Devilsize and Me, My Enemy singer Dan Nelson [photo] as the replacement for Joey Belladonna. The announcement was made earlier last evening (10 December) during an online chat with between Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante and members of Anthrax's official fan club. To check a few excerpts from that chat, go to this location.

A Devilsize song titled "Taken" featuring the vocals of Dan Nelson can be heard at this location. Four more Devilsize tracks featuring Nelson "The Way", "Explode", "Brooding" and "Freedom's Wings" are available for streaming here (click on the play button to the left of each songtitle to launch audio).

In other news, Anthrax will release Sound Of White Noise (Expanded Edition) and Stomp 442 (expanded edition) as digital releases for the first time via Anthrax Ltd/Megaforce Records on December 18, 2007.

Belladona is Anthrax.

Frank Bello is Anthrax. Joey was there best singer and the stuff without him is crap, but atleast this guy sounds better than John Bush.

Well that is your opinion. IMO John Bush blows this new guy right out of the water. John has a great distinctive warm voice and was technically superiro to any vocalist Anthrax ever had. Okay Anthrax's greatest success was with Belladonna but for me (and loads of others) joey was too whiny and screamy.

True enough. I probably prefer Belladonna since Im into a lot more glam, and the high pitched Belladonna comes a little closer to that. (and before anyone tries to call me an idiot, I was not calling Anthrax glam)

I liked John Bush, but Joey Belladonna was definately better. I'm just glad that we've got Anthrax back.
Collin - 12.12.2007 at 12:36
The only Anthrax stuff I like is those albums they recorded with John Bush. I don't like their old albums. Just to say I'm not expecting to be disappointed by the new singer
Frons - 12.12.2007 at 13:14
And WHO the hell is this??? A kid sharing stage with ppl that were doing the same when he was in the cradle!!!
Is true... Anthax are dead when the duo Scott Ian & Charlie Benante took the power...
It's useless that now they try to be appeal to the new emo/core crowd of young listeners... they're fu**ed up!!!

According to this they have never been alive since Ian and benante called the shots from the start of the band (so as early as their demo days)
ThunderAxe1989 - 14.12.2007 at 02:04
not really an Anthrax fan, but Tim Owens should've been the new singer.
Fucked Upstairs. - 14.12.2007 at 05:50
why don't they just fucking split up already, anthrax died 20 years ago.
DoomGuard - 14.12.2007 at 23:05
They'll never find anyone quiet like the one they had in the 80s...who's name has slipped my mind

Irony apart, it's not true, just because until the end of 80's Anthrax was and was considered a real band, then the ego of Ian and Benante started to overcome others and led Belladonna to leave the band, followed by Dan Spitz.
These are facts, not rumours...
