Battlelore - New Album Update

Folk Power metallers Battlelore have issued the following update on their website:

"Hellos all!
Battlelore started the recordings of their fifth album earlier today at Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna, Finland, with the producer Janne Saksa. The working title of the new album is "The Last Alliance". Within the next four weeks Battlelore will record and choose up to 9-10 songs from their material to be on this fifth voyage through Middle-earth. The album will then be mixed and mastered by the legendary Dan Swanö. Songtitles set to be on the album are e.g. 'The Last Alliance', 'Exile The Daystar', 'Daughter Of The Sun', 'Third Immortal' and 'Voice Of The Fallen'.

The new material is bigger, better and more epic with a few surprises such as the use of Tomi's clean vocals. The band itself describes the new songs as a beautiful combination of "Sword's Song" and "Evernight", where all the typical musical elements of Battlelore are combined in a new and also unexpected way. Needless to say, the whole band is very enthusiastic and exited to be recording these songs.

Prepare for the album of a lifetime, this one will not disappoint you!
There will be a studiobook running here [Link] so keep on checking for photos, texts, videos?"

Gee i hope they put in some effort into this one. First album was great, not musically, but sound worked. Every album since as gotten worse. Lets hope they employ some more complex music this time and lose the almost nu metal guitar riffs.

Considering the songs that I have loved from the past two albums were the ones where the female vocals were the most important, I'm looking forward to hearing some male clean vocals - I have a feeling they will compliment her better, perhaps adding that new level of development in Battlelore's music to make it even better! Great news.
